2019 S Daxton Hill says commit announcement is 'soon'
As per the Oklahoma native's twitter, the 8th ranked prospect on the 247 composite, who had impressive numbers at The Opening, is looking to commit 'soon.' Isaiah Hole from the Wolverines Wire cites optimism from sources close to Michigan based on some positive Michigan vibes at The Opening.
I personally don't see great signs for a Michigan verbal. As per Hole's article, Hill's last visit to Ann Arbor was an unofficial in March. An OV to National Champion Alabama, which is reportedly pitching him as the next Minkah Fitzpatrick, was his most recent visit in June. CBs are 80% Sooners, 15% OSU (NTOSU), and 7% 'Bama.
Dam, 102 percent of crystal balls he’s going somewhere else. I’d say we don’t have much of a chance.
Typo. 15% should be 13% to OSU (NTOSU).
I've heard of 110% committed, but that never made much sense.
Now 102% UNcommitted makes perfect sense =
Dax isn't committing to UofM.
He is another "flip ya for real" candidate tho.
I hear that he is a 150% lock to go to "cloudy"
My Uber driver said Team Chaos was in play
This guy is going to Oklahoma.
He should definitely go to the Big 12 so he can experience what it's like to give up 300+ yards passing per game.
I think he's going because he wants to experience what it's like to make the playoffs.
I'm always in the skeptics camp, but our D is par excellence in the nation... Sparse safety competition vs say Alabama. And Okla D Doesn't even compare to ours. I'd give us a chance here if someone on staff is optimistic.
I think Michigan was hoping to get him on campus one more time before he committed. The fact that he's announcing this early is probably not a good sign.
Yea I don't feel good about this one
Seems odd to commit soon but also plan for an OV to U-M in September...but crootin’
Hey, no recruits should visit Michigan in July as it is freezing!

Trust the pic. Goon Squad 19 had 8 players in it. 5 of them are committed. 3 left. Dax Harrison, Dicosmo. It's a lock. Counterstrike. Out.
I guess you need to start playing Fortnite.
The goon squad lock is Lewis Cine, not Dax but if we get Harrison too i can live without Hill.
My bad. On a positive note that means the goon squad sweep possibilities are even stronger.
Whoa...that would be a haul! Hill and Harrison are special talents. I haven't recruited enough to speak definitively-except to say that these kids make decisions in all directions for stated reasons that just leave you shaking your head. I will keep coming back to Sanguinetti though-this kid offers a very functional replacement for Hill/'Cine...he's a very high ceiling athlete...watch that kid run and hit!
Can someone list all the players in this Goon Squad 19 please...
I'd normally side with you, that he doesn't end up Blue. But name me a recent football commit who didn't make that commitment to Michigan.
I'll wait.
Huh?
Daxton Hill? Is he related to Dixon?
I guess this required it's own thread.
I guess you don't know how to use apostrophes.
I think the thread absolutely belongs. Your response to it? Not so much.
It was retweeted onto my timeline from a well respected OU recruiting person (@BrandonTFB)
"I want #Sooners fans to know that July will be a GREAT month for #OU on recruiting trail. They will definitely make a case for number 1 class by months end, if things happen as planned.
That is all."
That was 16 hr ago, that seems that there is a good chance these are connected.
Looks like an Alabama commit to me....
Hopefully the reason he’s 102% uncommitted to UM is because Cine is 98% silent committed to UM.
4.3 40 speed...we need some of that on both sides of the ball.
Well, according to some reliable sources on some other sites, one extremely notable, Michigan may actually lead for him. After reading that today, I'm optimistic. It was $ info so I won't get into specifics but I think there is WAY too much pessimism here right now. We'll see, I guess.
Hope this is legit and not one of the sites trying to offer up hope in order to get more subscriptions. Kid would fit very well in our defense.
Maybe if there was a compelling reason to think he wasn't going to Oklahoma I'd have more faith, but it's nice to see we are a legit choice.
Especially if the B12 is left out of the playoffs and Okla. stumbles, maybe we have a great shot to sign him.
Ok, his last tweet was a shout out to Cade McNamara; I can see him trolling with Giles Jackson's Florida offer but that would be beyond bold to troll with a current recruit, so I'm on the bandwagon but I'm strapping a pillow to my ass for when it crumbles.
Which/who is the notable one?
Lorenz.
I tend to avoid watching highlights of top recruits unless I think there is a legitimate chance. I caved and watched him, he is like a missile out there. Would be a massive get.
I don't think we're going to land Harrison, but getting his commitment would still be considerably more likely than getting Hill. Luring Daxson to Ann Arbor would be a gigantic recruiting upset.
The way we have built our D from the line and lb... It's not farfetched to finally see the fruits here of a Hill wanting to play behind that. Our D is tops in nation and rising, if you average out the past few years . We reap what we sow.
I oberheover some guys on PUBG talking about where he was supposedly going to commit to.
I live in Tulsa and people here seem to think it's either Michigan, Bama or Oklahoma. Obviously the locals think he is leaning more Oklahoma, but I don't see it.
Tepid optimism. Just for clarity. My source wasn’t like “yeaahhhhh Michigan’s getting him!” as much as “they feel good and did a lot to put themselves in a good position.”
A lot of smoke here putting UM in a good place, but I can't shake the feeling that Bama wants him bad and he would be passing up a huge amount of money if he were to come here. However, we are getting shout-outs from a ton of 5 star guys so maybe after last years recruiting debacle our boosters have mobilized.
If what I'm hearing about this goon squad is true and the peer pressure then maybe they want to all play together on the nation's top D. it's not farfetched at all...the kids realize they are bigger than the programs by all going to same school.
