without seeing specifics this is different than what he normally does. I thought he would for sure sign a one year deal wherever he went

I would assume they/he is pretty confident they are getting Kawhi.

Lonzo Ball, Luol Deng, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Brook Lopez, MO WAGNER

Ingram and Kuzma are decent players, but man are they at least two good players away from making it out of the second round.

George is staying in OKC, though my guess is that didn't affect LeBron's mind either way.

I do wonder if this means someone like Cousins or Howard will be signing with the Lakers as well.  The more I look at Kwahi, the more I'm worried he have some lingering medical issues and wouldn't want to mortgage a decent core in LA for it.

Yep.  I guess this gives Philly a slightly better chance because they'd only have to beat Boston instead of Boston + LeBron, but yeah, this feels like the Celtics' conference for the next 3-4 years.  Of course, they'll probably just lose in the Finals every year, but it's better than nothing.

Absolutely.  But they feel like the type of team that is going to be a step short as their young guys continue to mature.  I actually think they'd be better off trying to get rid of Kyrie and rolling with the rest of the roster + Hayward, but that's probably not going to happen.

I agree. Rozier looked good in the postseason, and Tatum is the real deal. Even without Kyrie, if they had Hayward they would have made the finals and probably won at least one game.

Kyrie could get them a couple good pieces; preferably another stretch shooter. Rozier, Brown, Taytum, Hayward and Horford along with some strong pieces could give real test to GS

I enjoy that all of you think a guy who has made the All Star team once in his career can take the team over the top without Kyrie.

Kyrie is a fucking weirdo, but he's one of the most talented scorers I have ever seen.  The Warriors had no answer for him, they could only hope that he missed.

Lol Moe Wagner and Lebron are teammates.

Imagine saying that 2 years ago after Moe’s freshman year.

I assume that means Leonard or Cousins will be coming along soon as well?

It's funny - the Lakers are probably a better team with LeBron than the Cavs, and he's making the move early enough that maybe a veteran or two will take the minimum to give it a go with him.

What will save his legs is if he can go to a team with a competent second scorer and a couple of defenders so that he can play 32-34-ish minutes a game instead of killing himself at 37/38 all year.  The Lakers aren't loaded, but they have a decent number of young guys and, you hope, can pick up a defender or two (they already have KCP, and maybe they add Leonard).  That's a pretty decent team and would help extend his career a bit more.

Well, that makes the Eastern Conference a race between Boston, a few select teams, and then the rest of it is a shitpile basically, with my Pistons comfortably in the layer of said pile where organic matter is being turned into fertile soil....for others to use.

It was a fun ride, he got me a title, he can do whatever he wants.

I'm just glad I don't have to deal with this shit anymore (the speculation and constant drama, obviously the finals runs were fun).
