I wouldn't say ridiculously strong offer list, better than my offer list, but that doesn't take much. Definitely a list of brainiac schools though
Strong NOTY contender too!
Just got home from work- and no commitments today????!!!!!
Dammit Jim!!!!
My Aeneas hurts just thinking about how much ruttgurs hates us.
Well, I heard your Aeneas is as big as DiCosmo-s.
I mean basically.
Ah yes...the old "polished anus syndrome". The silent killer.
Thanks.
Offers from Stanford, Clemson, and the Ivy League? Sign 'em up.
One of those things is not like the others...
It's noteworthy because he'd been thought to be headed to Stanford after favoring Michigan early. This was a guy Don Brown prioritized, a plan A guy. Maybe him choosing M over Stanford can help sway Herron to remain in the class.
Also speaks to the bond that was built among players and especially over this weekend, a great job by the staff.
It's also important RE: Herron that DiCosmo is a SAM, not an End. He is not coming for your position, Stephen!
He's a SAM to us, a la Josh Uche - a kid that played with his hand in the ground in high school, but who we will stand up. He's also fluent in Mandarin and wants to study International Business and Theater. This was always destined to be a Michigan-Stanford battle.
Talking smack in Mandarin.....that's gotta sound badass!
I really hope he does. That'd be like how Fordson calls audibles in Arabic.
Spring trip to China is a couple years away.
Football, business, and theater is an interesting combination. Throw in the Mandarin and I would say you have the makings of a unique young man. I would love to have him represent Michigan.
Sam Webb interviewed his dad on Thurs. on WTKA. Aeneas seems great but I want his dad for my best friends dad in H.S. Former NFL player and cool as a proverbial cucumber.
I hope they're employing Michigan theater major Jimmy Harbaugh in this recruitment!
DiCosmo is such a Jersey name. Love it.
I keep calling him DiCosmo Kramer and I can't stop.
Imagine having DiCOSMO and WANDAle in the same class. Just like we almost had Mario and Luiji on the same team.
This class is coming together quick. There won't be much to talk about in recruiting after the summer.
This is where we SHOULD be talking about the victories on the field.
Hopefully just a few supers, like Cine or Hill or Crouch, that we can impress with game officials and a good season.
It'll turn into a "will they stay committed" type fall. Which.... yay? Just have to hold it together with some good wins.
I've been looking at the class (and admittedly I haven't really looked into departures for next year) but I can't tell how many more spots are available.
1 for a QB?
1 for another RB?
1 for Quinten Johnson at Safety.
1 for another Safety if possible (Cine if he doesn't go to PSU)
1 for and OT (hopefully Keegan - if not Harrod)
1 for a WR (Ford - if not then anyone at all?)
1 for another DT (Uhhh... No idea. Johnson seemed like the one the staff wanted)
That would put it at 23 with no decommits. Herron seems like the only true flight risk at the moment unless someone get "processed" out. Everyone else seems set on Michigan (Hinton will have Georgia after him until his LOI is sent in).
Doubt we take another QB.
Definitely 1 more pure RB (Eric Gray).
Definitely want 2-4 more DBs (Q. Johnson, Cine, Dax Hill, Sainristil, Sanguinetti)
Definitely want 1 more OT (Keegan then Ike)
Definitely want 1-3 more DL (Ojabo, would love to flip Karlaftis, would take Zach Harrison no matter what).
Definitely want Quavaris Crouch (Quavaris Crouch).
Probably want 1 Slot/RB/Return Hybrid (Wandale Robinson or Giles Jackson).
Would probably like another pure WR (Ford or Cornelius Johnson) but not super high priority.
I think the staff is prepared to make room for this class to get up to between 24 and 28. That means expecting a good number of guys to go pro early, a decent number of transfers/processing, and a decent number of firm hand shakes next offseason.
Sanguinetti...take him every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Safety, WR...wherever he wants to play. That is "SEC" speed...and a football player.
Start recruiting 2020 - just a couple guys on board so far and a QB (Harrison Bailey, please) would get things really rolling. Put together a strong season to grab a couple late stars for 2019 and real momentum for 2020.
If he comes here and our band doesn't play a Dido song after every sack, I will be disappointed.
Sam great interview w his dad a couple days ago.
That's good, of course. But I listened to Sam on the radio yesterday. He had Steve Wiltfong on at one point and they were discussing DiCosmo. Sam said he put in his CB for Michigan and Wiltfong was surprised. Sam explained that it wasn't a gut feeling, but yeah.
Anyway, Wiltfong didn't sound like he was buying it. Thought it was worth a mention maybe to level out our expectations.
Someone say Cosmo?
Not since 2006.
Not since 2006.
I wish he didn't play for Bergen Catholic, it makes it hard to root for him.
How does he compare to in state DE Fletcher? WDE vs SDE? Fletcher seems like a huge upside guy we could have had but will now end up at MSU.
I heard some parts of Sam's interview with his dad. Very impressive, especially in keeping a wider view of getting a great education to leverage potential NFL riches in the future.
With offers from half the Ivy League and his top 3 being Stanford, Notre Dame, and Michigan, the kid must be really smart.
Herron is an outstanding player and I surely hope he comes to Michigan-for both his sake and that of Michigan football. However, despite the **** rating disparity, DiCosmo and Herron appear to be nearly parallel in talent.
