OT - Reddit CFB Risk Update 6/21: 13 Turns Left (Still First Place)
Yesterday was the same result as we've seen the last week or so. The Blue Alliance continues to dominate while the Red Alliance is being blown to pieces and experiencing internal issues. Check out this leaderboard. Reminder that Michigan, Florida, Georgia Tech, Texas, and Clemson have been working together against the rest of the teams. We are absolutely dominating. We have more protected territories that don't need defense (11) than Nebraska has overall territories (8).
There are only 13 turns left so we urge you all to continue to play and if you are new then please join in on this domination. It's fun, trust us. There's a very real chance that we can get the 5 members of our alliance into the top 5 by the time the game is over. So please continue to take orders!
Steps To Play Every Day:
- Sign up for a reddit.com account if you don’t have one already
- Visit https://flair.redditcfb.com/ " go to “find by conference," click “FBS” then “Big 10” and finally “Michigan” to set yourself as a member of our team. Click “Update Flair” to set it.
- Visit https://michigancfbrisk.com/ and click “Get Order!”
- Click the blue chessboard beneath the logo that you’re meant to attack/defend to take you to the game.
- Scroll down, now, and on the right hand side of the screen, you will see the options that you can attack or defend. Click the school logo that you were assigned to
Do not ever attack any territory that is owned by one of our allies unless specifically told to do so in your orders. Our allies are Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Texas. If you get an order to attack an ally owned territory then it means we are coordinating with them, so it is acceptable. Otherwise, do not attack allied territories or defend territories that allies border please!
Make sure you aren't flagged as a bot
One potential issue with the influx of new users we had is that some players may have been flagged as a bot and therefore their actions may not be counting. If you are flagged as a bot you will see the image below on vote.redditcfb.com
If you are seeing that message follow the steps below, otherwise you can ignore this.
- Follow the link shown in the screenshot above and fill out the google form
- Wait at least one day for the text box to disappear. If it does disappear, you are all set.
- If the bot disclaimer message persists after one day, then message the mods of /r/cfbrisk directly. You can follow the link in step 4 below to do this in one easy click.
- Be patient as the mods of the game are busy and they are putting a lot of effort into running this thing.
Daily Map
I have a general question about an order. What happens if you get an order to attack someone but you only see that school under the "defend" column. I don't see anywhere in the attack action column to attack.
Does this make sense?
Is there anyone I can PM to ask what to do? I get what you're saying but I don't want to attack the wrong school with so much on the line.

What a Great name
Yup.. Mine too.
Makes you wonder who's asleep at the wheel
Kinda shitty that my adopted home of MA and ME are now red. This displeases me greatly and demand an offensive.
nice job team! we could win this thing outright!
on the cfbrisk subreddit i see all this sunshine and roses between michigan and florida and not caring who wins as long as the alliance wins.
how confident are we that they won't turn on us for the last 2 or 3 turns and try to take a commanding lead at the end?
how confident am i that we won't do the same? it seems the optimal strategy is to turn on the alliance with 2 turns to go. they won't be defending against us and we'll take a shipload of territory, and then if we spread out our defense on the last turn, they won't be able to take it all back. then we win.
i still think we should have ended clemson about 6 turns ago, although i do understand they've been a good lil buddy.
strange to see nebraska falling apart - what happened, did their participation just tank or what?
what internal red team issues? sounds like stuff we'd like to hear about :)
I hate that I'm invested in this. I should think it's more stupid. But I just keep following orders...
These updates are driving approximately 50% of my visits to the new site... not sure what I'll do after.
for vetting - I'm trubbleinmind on the reddit
Nebraska clearly has Taylor Martinez armpunting their attacks at this point.
Holy smokes!!!! 42 days in. I finally got an MVP!!!!
So as to bring an end to the game, the definition of "winning the game" is having the most territories on July 4. Since winning criteria was made AFTER the game started and feels pretty arbitrary, I'd much rather pursue the original objective of eliminating other teams. Both W and OSU are trapped behind our alliance's lines, I'd say lets squeeze them into tighter and tighter spaces and finally push them off the board. That'd be a lot more fun/gratifying then trying for the most territories on July 4.
How solid is our alliance?? Years and years of playing board games has me paranoid of getting stabbed in the back......
How is Chaos so turrible with almost 3,000 stars? Just no coordination and everyone doing random stuff?
In part. A lot of Chaos players stopped playing (because their team is eliminated). Also, players can choose to play for the team that occupies their home territory (even when they are eliminated), so their Chaos participation varies even if they are still active post-elimination.
Can't believe I have gotten so hooked on this. I guess it's a slow summer
Summer just started today. :)
As sweet as it would be to win the game, eliminating tOSU completely would probably be sweeter.
Got my first MVP today! Wham bam thank you maam!
