MGoDad Roll Call ---Hast Thou Forsaken Thy Favorite Website?

Submitted by scanner blue on

Hey Mates (nod to Xtra Melanin) I'm off to Lake Michigan for a one day/night getaway and wondering if some of the long time dads are still among us? Xm, Mad Hatter, Monocle Smile, even Setion 8.1. Also thanks to the dads that run the site. I'm picturing little Denard Cook in his little hockey sweater, young Mr. Fisher who I played with at viewing party, and Ace's dad who shared Hollway field with me on a PiHi lacrosse senior night. Congrats to all the dad's .

Have I forsaken my favorite website? Well, one part of my routine didn't change on Father's Day - the second thing I did after making coffee was opening up MGoBlog.

I'll be honest - I don't know what exactly they've got in store for me today. It's going to be too hot to do much outside, unless they do it right now. Oh well, there's coffee......and later on, beer.

My son and I are at Cooperstown Dream Park for a week long 12U Baseball Tournament.  I'm having a great time - I'm in Father's Day heaven!

11 years ago on June 19th it was Father's Day.  I was in Guatemala picking up our adopted daughter.  I have some great memories around this day.

Best to all of you dad and your dad's, too!

My daughter had planned to take me to “Cominsky” to see the Tigers, but it’s too darned hot! Chinn’s 34th Street Fishery instead. Happy Fathers Day to all who had fathers! Enjoy the memories.

Happy father's day to all the dads. We've got a bunch of folks coming over. I threw two pork shoulders on the smoker at 2:30 to be ready for lunch. I've got some pork belly burnt ends going as well. Should be a good day!

Grandma took the three little maniacs for a sleepover last night, so enjoying a nice breakfast with my wife before we go pick them up.  Brasil match at 2 and then maybe beat the heat with late afternoon movie.  Happy Fathers Day everyone!

Because of the dumb dog, I'm the only one awake. So Costco dark roast and MGoBlog for this guy. Was watching Death Wish last night and forgot how much I loved Charles Bronson. I'm intrigued be the remake's trailer, though Bruce Willis seems a bit miscast.

My first post on the new site.   I guess Im old and grump and miss the old version - flaws and all.   Been tough on my iphone.

I’m going see a bunch of relatives then hangout with my youngest son and play Fortnight.

Will be a good warm up for a new job I have for a nice family called the Barksdale’s

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father's Day to all and thank you Scanner Blue for your OP---would upvote you for posting it if we still could!

Whether being honored today (as I am) as a father or grandfather, or honoring your own pops on Father's day, please take a moment to remember the Fathers who have passed away (such as my dad 6+ years ago); to think about Fathers who may be separated from their children because of work or other responsibilities or other circumstances beyond their control; and to also think about Fathers ( and their children) who are denied contact with their kids by those who misuse their "power" to do so.  And remember and then be thankful how fortunate most of us individually are to be able to share Father's Day with our loved ones.

But I'll get back off my soapbox now and wish nothing but enjoyment and relaxation and fun times to all MGoDads all day today!

From an mgomom, Happy Father's Day to all you dads.  You're making the world a better place, one family at a time.  Dads are so underappreciated in society these days; I'm grateful for my own dad's influence in my life (he's been gone since 2009) as well as so many others.  Enjoy the food and beverage of your choice, and feel the love.

I spent the day at home with my wife and two of my children. It was great. I grilled out for dinner. My other child pitched today in Wisconsin and picked up a win for his Northwoods team. That was excellent too.

I lost my dad a couple months ago and I miss him dearly on this day. First Father’s Day without him but with my family I made it through. Thank you my peeps!

Happy Father’s Day to every father on the blog. God Bless!

Also last year fathers day started the beginning of my honeymoon. Today was our 1st anniversary and fathers day. Married into two wonderful stepkids. Had an amazing day with them.

Happy Father's Day!

And may our children never be subject to internet scorn because they only have three stars.

Spent most of the day in the quiet, dark, AC infused housing unit watching my 9 and 6 year old sons stare at their devices with glorious none molecule exciting stillness; but, also had intermittent trips to the "sauna" for light yard work, short iron approach shots and some yard bird on the grill, resulting in probably 5lbs of weight loss.

Today was good dad's day.

For Father's Day, I accidentally gave my parents a cruise to celebrate their 40th anniversary, which is next year.

I meant to give it to them for Christmas, but the cruise company doesn't listen to directions, and sent them a welcome card, despite assurances that all mail would be sent to the billing address, not the address of the people on the cruise.  So I had to let the cat out of the bag to reassure them that someone hadn't stolen their credit card numbers to buy a cruise.

At least the location is still a secret.  So far.  I have to call the guy and see if they can at least figure that part out.  You'd think a cruise company would be used to that kind of thing.
