Reddit Risk front page article

Submitted by DowntownLJB on

I can't comment on the cover page article (can anyone?), but I finally caved, created a reddit account and took my marching orders.

Anything else I should be doing to try and be more helpful?

Reddit Risk is emotionally sensitive stuff with mass opportunity for disrespectful commenting.  Post was locked-down immediately.

I merely ask out of interest and mean no disrespect to the Risk players here. I'm not a redditor, but love the original game.

But if the powers that be know  its a mass opportunity for negative comments and locked-down right away....couldn't that be a sign that its not really a great Front Page post?

Yes. Significantly. The stars are disproportionately weighted so that playing regularly, and posting on Reddit/cfb are rewarded.

(I know, I know, Reddit. But college football rivalries plus combinatorics!)

I'll pitch in just as soon as someone delivers some oars to the boat that I'm cuuently sitting on- hundreds of miles off of the coast of Kamchatka.

Been doing my best for a few weeks now, always enjoy when I wake up and my "get an order" is to attack or defend against OSU territory.

The best thing any one person can do is get yourself to three star status in ten days.

1. "Explore all the links"

2. Take a turn attacking some heathens from OSU, Alabama or Nebraska every single day for ten days, by playing your assignment.

3. Participate meaningfully on r/cfb by commenting on threads started by others.  Upvotes on those comments get you karma, and 500 total karma (upvotes) gets you three stars.

Three star status is disproportionately stronger than one or two stars, so make it happen.
