have to use the photo icon like before when you were just uploading an image.

that will open the Imce File Manager where you upload the gif or photo.

it will only accept .gif .jpg & .png files under 2mb.

once uploaded you double click the file you want to post and it will populate into the comment text box with the rest of your comment ready to be posted.

Well, beforthe switch you could not upload a gif from your hard drive, it wasn’t possible without a URL, so you needed the website link. Now, that won’t work she you need to do the opposite of before (save gif to your pc then upload to post).  I ain’t the most tech savvy guy but Am I doing this right?

correct.  before when posting a gif you had to drop the html code into the plain text editor and it would then post.  now you right click the gif to save it to your computer then upload to MGoBlog using the Imce File Manager.  once it is uploaded to MGoBlog's servers then you can double click the gif or photo and it will drop into the comment box.

i'm still trying to figure out how to link youtube videos.

The iPhone mobile app no longer works.  But since the app is mobile friendly and this homescreen tip.  It should be pretty close.  Biggest annoyance I have is the number of clicks to get the mgoBoard.  I may just create two links on my homescreen.

I'll also humbly beg for easier access to the MGoBoard. The Board of one of my favorite parts of the blog, and I imagined the most popular as well. As it stands it's buried 3 actions deep under an unmarked icon, instead of front page. Love all the work everybody is putting into the new site, just wanted to give some constructive feedback.

Totally agree.  I'm always amazed at how something like this can be overlooked.  Only thing I can think is it is a way to force people to go through the main page. Almost everyone has an app for their company or website.  As usual though, the decisions that are made by those in charge (not just here) are based on the way they use the website, not the way their customers use it.

That worked perfect so I can differentiate between the two . Thanks you for all the help. I also love the quick access of an app. Since the site changed to this new browser only, my usage of the site has gone down. Which maybe is good for my health but not for their clicks. This will change me back to normal excessive clicks.

Text editor being above the comments is weird.

Also not being able to edit my post or thread is not good. I'm sure that will get fixed though.

You can add a shortcut icon using Samsung browser by clicking the three dots and adding to desktop, but I don't think you can change the icon from the lame one they automatically provide.

The lack of an icon is not the reason I want an app. Responsive does not mean mobile optimized, and visiting this site on my phone makes that very clear. Navigating is a pain, the layout becomes ridiculously long, trying to get to comments at the bottom of a thread is cumbersome because of the positioning of navigation, each page has to completely reload when you want to go back to the list of threads, and so on.

I can understand not having an app ready at launch. What I cannot understand is the attitude that there's no need for an app.

And furthermore, anyone who thinks it's just an oversight or something along those lines is mistaken. There must be more to it. There was the HD app years ago and it was fantastic, but Brian nixed that. It wasn't even his app. So he stopped access to his site through an app and replaced it with nothing. There are people I've seen volunteer to help build an app, doesn't matter. So I'm not sure exactly why, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I'd just suggest going elsewhere. That's probably what I'll end up doing.
