Beilein Remains Comment Count

Not going anywhere:

Our long regional nightmare is over. LFFFFFGGGGG!!!!!!

UPDATE: The Athletic's Brendan Quinn reports Beilein and Michigan are on the verge of agreeing to terms on a contract extension:

A source tells The Athletic that Beilein and the school have nearly finalized a two-year extension on his previous three-year contract. Now a five-year contract, the new deal with coming with a rolling extension, which will keep the agreement at five years after each season. It is believed he will receive a raise from $3.37 million annually to just under $4 million per year.

He adds that Beilein did not receive an offer from the Pistons, who are still looking at former Raptors coach Dwane Casey and current Spurs assistant Ime Udoka. Multiple reporters, including ESPN's NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, are framing this as Beilein pulling out of the search, which is nice optics for the program.

I wonder if this is all a plan to make it look like everyone involved with the program is always looking to bigger and better things(geared toward recruiting). Similar to how everyone is encouraged to get an NBA Draft Advisory eval each year if they are even remotely NBA-caliber.

Also Kinda like Chase Winovich flirting with the NFL draft and coming back..... If Beilein is deemed "remotely NBA Caliber" in the eyes of recruits, then there's a bigger chance of NBA prospects coming here without Bagmen enticements.

I like the way you think.  Beilein is so smart, I wouldn't put this past him.  Either way, I'm really pumped to "get him back".

I'm also glad the site is back up.  Looks like people are having issues with posting gifs/images.  I'll have to give it a try later.

Thank you Coach Beilein!

"As a coach, you think you have them (Michigan) figured out...you don't have them figured out. He's just very unique in that. You can't allow them to do what they want to do. And if you do, now it's just hitting or missing, especially when they put skill [on the floor]. His ideal thing is having a five that can shoot." - Matt Painter, Purdue coach.

All the 5s that can shoot to you Coach Beilein! All the 5s!

Personally I'm OK with not having figured Coach Beilein out, and never figuring him out.

May no one ever figure him out.

I am just content that Michigan has him.

And that Michigan can keep him a little longer.

If embeds break even for Seth, I know I don't have to feel bad about it in the early days here.

Oh, and the real issue: Awesome!

I said in the other thread we might be in the middle of a golden era of Michigan basketball. But we've got Mel (c'mon Jack Hughes!) and the most talented football team in over a decade. And, finally, a new website. Is 2018 the dawn of a golden age of Michigan sports?

I sure hope so.
