That was actually an interesting Q & A with Zenkel. Thanks for sharing it!

Actually, let us also give credit to the nine other folks listed at the bottom of this page who are also Michigan graduates and have substantial roles in making various aspects of Olympic coverage happen for NBC. Very impressive indeed.

and beg him to create one Olympics channel for guys, where you watch one event at a time, the whole way through, no ice skating (we watch enough of that with our wives during prime time thank you), as little time delay as possible, and no back stories of personal or national (tsunamis) trauma to overcome.

30 medals have been awarded so far and I've seen a snippet of luging, skiing, and snowboarding, and the entire ice skating events of yesterday twice.

"But do let me reiterate the spirit of Michigan. It is based upon a deathless loyalty to Michigan and all her ways; an enthusiasm that makes it second nature for Michigan men to spread the gospel of their university to the world's distant outposts; a conviction that nowhere is there a better university, in any way, than this Michigan of ours." - Yost

With all due respect, not to jack your thread, but per ESPN #1 Ranked daul-threat QB for 2015 has named Michigan in his Top 10. Just thought I'd share, since I can't create topics. Also, 'crootin.

He's from Texas.  Its going to be really hard to pull him from the state of Texas.  His brother is currently a student at A&M.  He's visiting there this weekend, and also has interest in Texas Tech.  And I'm sure Baylor and Texas will be after him hard too.

Its nice to make the top ten, but this is a real long shot.

We've had some success in Texas before. Mallett, Stonum, McGuffie are just a few in the last couple years that come to mind. Andrew Luck, Matt Stafford, and LaMichael James were guys who fled the lone star state. UT doesn't have a strangle-hold on the state like some think. There's just way too much talent there, some kids are naturally going to look elsewhere.

Mallett was more of a mutual parting of ways than a homesickness issue.  Michigan was going to a spread system under Rich Rod and as a tall statue QB, he didn't fit in that offense.

McGuffie (if I remember right) was more medical related than anything.  He had a ton of concussion problems at Michigan, and I think that played a role in his transfer as well.

and couldn't help wondering if that's why the Shibutani sibs got so much facetime in the opening ceremonies (without identifying them by name, lest the Mich staff be accused of bias).

But maybe it was just that they're so cute.
