How will you spend your NSD???

Submitted by Darker Blue on

I'm not going to pay any attention at all, I probably won't even open MGoBlog until just before I head into work ( I work midnights ).

Is there anybody else out there who doesn't care about recruiting?

How many of you will be glued to espnu all day waiting to see who goes where?

And how many of you will be anxiously doing what You're not supposed to be doing?

I probably won't remember that tomorrow's NSD until I get home from work. I try not to let decisions of high school students impact my life any more than absolutely necessary.

Well, if whatever hits Columbus that's supposed to hit us, I'll probably be at home and having myself a good old fashioned throwback snowday of playing Nintendo.

I will check at the end of the day to make sure that everyone signed, but were really not in it for anyone anymore. Kind of a disapointing end to the recruiting cycle, though I am not suprised.

I'm taking the day off. This is my holiday.

  • Wake up at 5:30
  • Get White Castle breakfast and bring it home
  • MGoBlueTV signing day special from 6:30-9am while updating the 'books as the faxes come in and each become official.
  • Catch up on the WTKA signing day morning show with the podcasts and watch the ESPN coverage until the presser at 2.
  • WTKA Signing Day party after
  • Michigan Basketball vs nebraska at 6:30

I've worked my ass to be able to take a day off once in awhile.

When I called "in sick" on my first job - a summer job after HS graduation at Meijer - my dad told me something I'll never forget.  In 25 years, he never called in sick.

And I sure as hell wasn't working my ass off compared to him or anything really.

And high school is unequivocally not working your ass off.

And if you're going to skip a day in HS, you better at least be trying to touch a boob somewhere in there.  Not "watching" RECRUITING.

I admit to following recruiting at least to a certain point, albeit somewhat passively, but generally, I will just look at Michigan's list at the end of the day, see who signed and when and that's more or less that for me. Wednesday is generally a terrible day for me to follow anything because the staff meetings with both my own group and my fellow supervisors are that day, as well as two Continuous Improvement update sessions.

In the mod role, I am sure there will be moments where either myself or others will intervene in recruiting-related threads. Actually, I started following recruiting more once I became a moderator here so I could anticipate issues.

gonna get up around 10, drop a big deuce, smoke a bowl and fire up the puter.  If McDowell committs here, might crack a 12 pack. If not, smoke another bowl hit the hot tub in snorkle and fins around lunch, like any other day.

I'll be hammering away at several of my investment properties. I stopped caring about signing day when they turned it into a media circus, and started drooling over 17 and 18 year old kids like they are mega stars.
