I feel pretty good after this loss. What about you?

I wasnt all that upset last night after this loss. Michigan is still a very young team and they will lose games like this,I'm just glad it was against a good team and not a bad one. 5 turnovers on the road and to lose by only 2 points with a team full of young kids showed some fight in these guys. I dont fault coach Rod (like some) for leaving in Denard on that llast drive. He was playing better than tate and Iowa was having a hard time stopping him. I know, I know tate has come backs in him but if he would have put tate back in and he threw a pick everyone would have been screaming they should have left the "hot hand" in there.

the D-line played great and Woolfolk filled in nicely. the lb's still stink but had a nice goal line stand. 55 was just outstanding again and is the heart of that defense.

Congrats to Iowa they played a good game but a year from now Michigan wont lose games like this.

Moral victories are for the guys in East Lansing. As a lifelong Michigan fan, I have never felt good after a loss. I'm pissed, this game was there for the taking. Winning some of these games when we stop with some of these ridiculous mistakes will make me happy. Not losing, "but hey we looked good".

If you didnt think a game like this would happen this year then your crazy. All I said was I'm glad it happen against Iowa and not some crap team. 5 turn overs against iowa at night and to lose only by 2 is a good sign for this team. trust me I'm with you on it sucks they lost, but how many young teams would have only lost that by 2? My guess not many.

I feel good about the remainder of the games and here's why:

- Delaware State is Delaware State
- Penn State got completely owned on the line by Iowa on both sides.
- Illinois looked as bad as 2008 Michigan in their loss yesterday.
- Purdue is Purdue.
- Wisco could be a very tough game, but they run that power type offense which we've been pretty effective at stopping this year.
- OSU will be elite talent-wise but wow does their offense look terrible or what? If we can score on them then we win. Our weakness has been our secondary, and Pryor has been downright bad passing this year.

Moral Victory much? Didn't think I'd see the day where Michigan fans were talking glory of a moral victory.

a lot of good and bad in this game. Our Freshman QB looked the part tonight. Which was kind of to be expected. 5 turnovers is never good, Momentum killers.

Iowa basically spotted us 7 points and we gave that advantage right back on our first drive by throwing the INT. Momentum was gone, lead was gone, field position was gone.

I love Tate and think he will be very very good for us through his career but he gets away with way too many throws that he shouldn't be making at all.

No.
Great defensive effort and improved fundamentals.
It seemed like special teams was giving up great starting field position all night long. That really ticked me off.
I felt good after last week. I'm not there yet on this one.

i would be pissed if say the 2007 team had given this game away with seniors like hart, henne, and long. and while this loss still sucks a ton because it was there for the taking (..for the 2nd week in a row) i find it hard to get too pissed because the team is young and if they're playing to a point where they could've been 6-0 right now had a few plays gone differently, then i think we can all find a little solace knowing that we are going to be nasty good in 1 or 2 years

I'm not confident Iowa is going to do Mich any favors going forward (they are not likely to win out - I see two losses (OSU and Wisc - IMO.)

Barring TOs we owned this game. BG dominated, as did Warren. In that respect, I don't feel good post this game, but I do see positives.

QB play going forward is key. Hopefully Tate comes back and Denard gets some key minutes vs. Delaware State.

For me, it was good to see the defensive line finally get some penetration. I loved that goal line stand. It hurt to see the safeties get burned deep again on a 3rd and long, but Woolfolk was a major upgrade at corner. I know it was one game, but I'd like to see what he can do moving forward.

The special teams were a disappointment, IMHO. Space Emperor made the punts, but the coverage was not there. You can't have a senior like Greg Matthews muff fair catches, either.

In that vein, there weren't many attempts downfield, or even longer passes in general, for that matter, but where have Matthews, Grady, and others been? Koger, Hemingway, Stonum, and Odoms had good days receiving, but it didn't seem like we were spreading the field. However, the run game took pressure off of that. MINOR RAGE

As we know, no moral victories, but we still had a chance to win this game. I'll take a 2 point loss to Iowa on the road over the mess that was 2008, though. We're competing!

D-Rob makes that read on Odoms' crossing pattern underneath, we're in prime position to win the game. SO close.

I was really impressed that we had a chance to win until the very end in such a hostile environment and against the #12 team in the nation. The only thing that disappoints me about this is the few plays where Michigan players made terrible mistakes that proved to be the difference between a win and a loss. That 3rd and 25 conversion is one bad play that stood out to me. Despite that mistake and the 4 turn-overs on offense, I think Michigan played well yesterday. The defense looked pretty impressive and Minor had a good day running the ball. Hopefully the team can learn from this and move on after two tough losses.

Are the comments from some folks who seem to forget that we're talking about a team made up of 89 freshmen and sophomores. Don't get me wrong, I'm never "okay" with a loss, but a young team is going to make mistakes. A loss provides an opportunity for the coaches to have the players' undivided attention and teach. A win is always preferable, but can make it more difficult to get young players to make corrections.

"Veteran" teams sure make them, too. Someone else here mentioned that if this had been 2007, and the players were Henne, Hart, et al, then we'd all be rightfully pissed off. But it isn't 2007 ... And didn't that year start off with a thud?

And it isn't like we laid an egg last night. LSU at home against Florida scoring 3 points -- THAT was an egg-layer.

I would like to know what you were drinking when you thought that yesterdays loss would make you feel good. Turning the ball over 5 times and still having a chance to win. Yeah to come that close and lose made me sick
