Inside Michigan Basketball Episode 6
This could be the best episode ever. Sweep of Iowa and MSU in the same week both top-10 teams. Episode recaped the games and had some sweet postgame interviews. Love John Beileins attitude of never being satisfied i love this team. Enjoy!!

Haha I love Beilein and he's one hell of a coach, but the guy isn't the most inspiring pep talker in the world.

Thank goodness he isn't any better, I'd be afraid that team might kill someone. As it stands right now he gets them pumped up enough they look ready to run through a brick wall.

Yeah I think the staff as a whole does a great job getting them pumped. I'm just saying as for Beilein's role in the process, it seems to be more focusing everybody and calming the nerves before Bacari delivers the adrenaline.

for a team as young as this one, they need calm, cool and collected more than somebug-eyed screamer. He has a lot of poise, and his teams mirror that. That's one of the reasons they've finished as well as they have this year.

Playing basketball, I always prefered approaching a game with focus and poise rather than being "fired up." I know not everyone is wired the same way, but playing angry never did me any favors. Approaching a game with confidence and determination to play smart was the best angle for me.

Personally, I think Izzo is too emotional and it transfers to his players. If you get too high, you risk crashing. Maybe in the second half or maybe the next game.
I wondered at halftime on Saturday, if MSU could sustain the high emotion and level of play in the second half (especially the subs who weren't used to playing so much) and I don't think that they did sustain it. I thought that Michigan had more energy in the closing minutes.

Awesome stuff. Thanks for uploading.
BTW, there's a mistake at the beginning of the video. We've won 13 B1G titles, not 12.

I think it was a retainer

As someone who wore a retainer/mouthpiece for many years, I thought the same.

I see what you're saying about the even-keeled approach, but at some point I think it's good to have a guy who just gives you an extra jolt before the game, and I think Bacari provides that. It's sort of the best of both worlds.

Is Coach Alexander carrying a maize and blue sledgehammer?
January 28th, 2014 at 12:29 AM ^
Ya hes always had that thing. I think he tries to make a point that there going to work but i think it intimidates the shit outta anyone. Bacari's a beast

Does anyone like him?

No. He isn't a very talented broadcaster. I think this has been covered before but he got his gig in the lean days of the program and has just stuck around even though he's never been very popular or done memorable work.

I like him. Maybe it is just because I grew up with him and I associate Michigan basketball with his voice but I don't mind him.

I like him - he has a lot of passion and it comes through (which I think is totally fine for a U-M broadcast - think about Ufer).
