So there are only 32 coaches that vote in the USA Today poll and only 1 coach is from the Big Ten (Matt Painter, Purdue)?  Seems a bit ridiculous

these are the voters:

The USA TODAY Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 32 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The board for the 2013-14 season: Tommy Amaker, Harvard; Randy Bennett, Saint Marys; Jim Boeheim, Syracuse; Rick Byrd, Belmont; Scott Cherry, High Point; Tim Cluess, Iona; Keith Dambrot, Akron; James Dickey, Houston; Scott Drew, Baylor; Matt Driscoll, North Florida; Steve Fisher, San Diego State; Bruiser Flint, Drexel; Tim Floyd, Texas-El Paso; Mark Fox, Georgia; John Gallagher, Hartford; George Ivory, Arkansas-Pine Bluff; Ben Jacobson, Northern Iowa; Rob Jeter, Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Danny Kaspar, Texas State; Mike McConathy, Northwestern State; Greg McDermott, Creighton; Bob McKillop, Davidson; Fang Mitchell, Coppin State; Matt Painter, Purdue; Dave Paulsen, Bucknell; Saul Phillips, North Dakota State; Randy Rahe, Weber State; Herb Sendek, Arizona State; Shaka Smart, Virginia Commonwealth; Andrew Toole, Robert Morris; Don Verlin, Idaho; Bob Williams, UC-Santa Barbara.

you don't have the Big Ten coaches voting for each other to make the conference look that much better like SEC coaches do in football. Do you see Northwestern state with votes in the poll? I just think whatever bias there is it's very limited unlike football.

Awesome.  It looks like a poll assembled by the refs at the MSU game, in collaboration with Dick Vitale's drool produced when thinking about Tom Izzo in pajamas.

3 straight wins against top 10 teams, and not only are we only just the 14th best team in the country in this stupid poll, but evidently the general consensus is that all 3 are better than us?

we movedup a lot (11 spots). That is a huge bump, and a similar jump in the AP will get us at #10.   But, seems to me we should have passed Wiscy and Iowa, ranked just ahead of us.  Esp. Iowa, which also has 4 losses.  Hard to see how anyone could have us unranked.

This reminds me of the polls my senior yr of high school baseball. We were ranked #9 and Grand Ledge was ranked #6 going into a double header. We beat them twice on their home field and the next week we were unranked and they moved up. Makes tons of sense.
