Discuss. Worst officiating you've seen? Are you drunk from it?

But hey, great win baby!!

Everyone should complain to the conference office. That was a disgrace to the game, the kids, coaches, and the fans. Just fucking awful, awful, garbage.

The final foul shots were pretty even, but only because MSU had to foul at the end.  Insane that UM has gone into Kohl and Breslin and emerged with wins given how crappy the officiating tends to be toward road teams there.  Great week.

It was pretty bad at times for 32 minutes (though not as bad as many here might think)  The second half for 10 minutes was the worst in my mind.  Then, around the 6-8 minute remaing mark I think they started to make a few calls that should have been done the whole game.  I also think they finished the game well in the last 2 minutes in calling stuff that needed to be called i.e. instead of letting a mugging happen yet calling it a steal.

It sucks that, in that what I consider good should just be par for the course, but it's not, we know this.  It was a pretty hard game to watch in regards to the officiating and how Sparty was able to do things we weren't.  Sparty is good defensively, lost in all this talk is that fact, and in a way, it's too bad.

I thought I was watching two sets of refs, what was call on Michigan was completely different than what was called on State.  The Big Ten should be embarrassed.

I wish I had a picture of it, but early in the game there was a shot of Beilein and Morgan (maybe Horford?) arguing with the refs about grabbing jerseys and Morgan's jersey had a huge rip right down the middle. I saw that and knew we were in for a long night with some shitty officiating.

I was baffled by the replay showing Spartan defenders getting nothing but arm and body to strip the ball away from Walton and Dickie V. calling it a clean steal.  At least the refs got that one right.

and never in control.  I've never seen Beilein that angry.

That is triumph in the face of adversity - contending with a good opposing team and the refs.

I watched those multiple times, and just didn't see it. I also saw the time out signal from far away yet the red standing over him couldn't see it? I also don't understand what Morgan did to all these refs. He gets all ball on a block early in the game yet state was able to maul michigan players driving. Very frustrating. A testament to both the team and Beilein for winning and overcoming everything.

did everything they could to even the playing field for MSU's injured big men. Morgan got robbed tonight. If he sneezed, they called a foul.

What's more hilarious is Sparty fans bitching about the refs on RCMB.

Its just amazing what goes for referring these days. As a perfect example, look at Morgan's fifth foul.  Not only was that not a foul, but I'm 100% certain Morgan didn't even touch anyone.  Its one thing to let the 50/50 calls go to the home team but to just make up fouls or ignore blatant contact is another thing.

For the milliionth time.

There are no such thing as B1G conference basketball officials.

College basketball officials are not tied to conferences like they are in football, hockey, and other sports. They work (usually, more or less) regionally.

The refs were awful tonight. Michigan really got shafted, however I will admit that MsU got screwed once or twice but overall the refs were probally about worth +6 points for MSU.

Maybe this is not unusual, but early-ish in 2nd half, after Harris (IIRC) hit a driving layup and tumbled/rolled across the baseline as his shot went in, M quickly inbounded the ball and Walton pushed quickly back the other way (since they had numbers with Harris having to recover). When they showed a replay of this (shortly thereafter), the ref on the baseline reached out and helped Harris get to his feet.

Nice gesture and all, but, it struck me as quite odd that a ref would intervene like that (aren't they supposed to officiate and not assist?). Or is this not unusual and just a nice gesture?
