The turnovers did us in, we saw more maturation from Denard...that last throw...ugh...

Again, a great game tonight by the team. Obviously, turnovers hurt us, and the missing turnovers that could have been. There were a couple of balls that should have been picked off that could have really changed the game. Third down issues haunted the D again. We're coming close, though! /Unabashed optimism...

I agree. We outplayed them but we killed ourselves. The only point of the game that I actually became discouraged about us winning was when Denard showed up in the final drive. I love the guy to death, want to see him on the field, but not in a do or die situation. He simply is not ready for that.

Yeah, turnovers were brutal tonight. BUT, we just barely lost to a 12th ranked Iowa, at night, on the road. Looking ahead at Penn State in a couple weeks, we should be more comfortable at home and if we can get in control of the ball we should be alright in these big games still to come. Tonight was a huge bummer, but we'll be alright.

The defense played better than the have since Western and the offense moved the ball on a really tough defense when we weren't shooting ourselves in the face. I know we lost, and that sucks, but I'm pretty pleased.

Agree, I thought the OL stepped it up tonight pretty good. Running game wasn't amazing, but better than I expected against this IA D, same goes for pass protection for the most part. Props to them, and hopefully both Tate and Denard bounce back from disappointing play(s). Keep you heads held high, we were supposed to dominated tonight, and we could've won it despite 5 (FIVE!) TO's.

This is the growing pains for a young team...away games in the Big Ten is a little more brutal than the likes of Western Michigan or Indiana at home...we'll get better...I still like our chances against Penn St....Go Blue!!!

1) BG is a beast. 2) Warren is wonderful. 3) Turnovers suck ass! 4) QB's need more experience. 5) We didn't perform so bad (we win with only 1 turnover). Easily fixed stuff.

I'm not that upset, like you said the TO's killed us. I love how this team doesn't give up and Denard fought back to give us a chance and he made a bad throw. Move on, were maturing and getting better. On a side note: MINOR RAGE!

That was a GREAT game. I am usually suicidal after a loss like this, but this team showed an absolutely amazing level of fight. They are going to curb stomp Delaware State next week, and they are going to upend either PSU, Wisconsin, or OSU. You take away a single one of those dumb plays and Michigan ekes out a victory. There are things to be disappointed about, sure...but God damn... I predicted 6-6 coming into the season, and predicted this game as DEATH...and it was certainly not that. Maturation on the battlefield was the tone of this game.

but I don't feel that bad. We were in this till the end. In a game that showed some improvement in the D. 5 TO and losing by 2 pts when some picked us to lose in double digits. My concern is for TF- looked rattled and inept the last 2 drives of his. I guess I set the bar high considering the fast start but he looks, dare I say, a bit regressing. I hope I'm wrong

We'll be fine....nice rebound game next week at home and Molk is on the mend. Other than OSU I feel really good about our chances of winning the rest of the games.

It is honestly sickening to hear about how everyone is so pumped about how Michigan kept it close. I understand that last year was growing pains, but I think we're at the point where we can at least hope for wins. There's no shame in being upset at losing when the team obviously made a shit-ton of mistakes. There were some bad coaching calls and quite a bit of poor execution. Why does everyone assume that will all go away for the rest of the season?

Yeah, it's hard to lose. I feel you there. But what did we expect from this year? The Carr era was hard to shed. We want improvement and progress. We've seen both. I'll agree with you if this shit keeps happening all next year and the year after. Then I'll be ready to feel sick. Until then we, as a fanbase, need to grow and learn with the team; we're not used to this either.

against Iowa, on the road, and despite four (at the time) turnovers. Freshman mistake was the last straw, but I agree with the decision to put Denard in for the last drive.

Tate played bad, not his best day. I thought Denard should have actually gone in a couple of series earlier, but I must say that i'm very proud of Denard. He made plays for us when no one else was and kept us in the game, I love that RR left him in the game for that last drive, for various reasons.

Upset with the lack of the defense to contain on 3rd and long. Ultimately the turnovers killed any sort of hope we had (multiple times) to take serious momentum: The Forcier "empty hand" fumble, his ill advised pick, Minor's fumble in Iowa territory, Matthews fumble on the punt return, and then DRob's INT. This team gives me a stroke every saturday. Also. It seems like our passing game is just dink and dunk or take off and run. We need to keep defenses honest by throwing the deep ball every now and again. I thought the offensive line played fairly well. I'm interested to see the UFR. We had better come out next week and absolutely blast Delaware State to regain some momentum.

1. We were in the game late despite a rash of turnovers. 2. The Offensive Line and RB looked great. 3. Dernard Robinson did some really good things. 4. While the defense made a few big errors, they kept us in the game. 5. Zoltan was awesome! Iowa is a really technically sound team, and Kinnick Stadium is one of the toughest places to win in the Big Ten. We are right on schedule for our rebuild, and I would be shocked if we are not bowl bound this year (Delaware State, Purdue and Illinois look like wins, and we might be able to steal a win in one of the other games).

This is my team. I root for Michigan. All in for Michigan boys. Great game. 1. Night time road game. Check. 2. Very tough opponent defense. Check. 3. 5 tunrovers. Check. 4. Minor Rage. Give him the damn ball! check. 5. Just catch the damn ball. Fail. 6. Schooling your best QB option that he doesn't have to win the game on every play. Check. 7. Only lost by 2!@>>?Eleventeen!!!!??@?? does not compute. This is my team. I root for Michigan. Go blue.

Yep. Real, real bummer to lose like we did especially w/ the great showing from the D. UFR pending, is it safe to say that was our best defensive effort all year? Maybe not... they did put up 30 on us... but it just seemed like the D was worlds better than in previous games. Re. turnovers... - Can't remember what first one was. - The second and third led to 2 Iowa field goals. That's the difference in the game right there. - The fourth (fumble by Minor near end of first half) killed a Michigan drive that had major momentum and I think would have likely resulted in a TD at that point... - The fifth was Shoelace's INT at the end. We had 5 TOs but they only scored 6 points off those TOs. Nix any of those TOs - take your pick of any one - and we win the game. So, it's not like we just fucked ourselves over once, we did it multiple times. That's a frustrating way to lose, even with a young team.
