Nebraska is smoking Ohio State

Submitted by m1jjb00 on

With a minute and a half to go in the first half, Nebraska is up 34-21.  Man are they offensively challenged.  It's on BTN if you'd like to enjoy

But that tight road win at Nebraska looks a little better now. Nebraska is going to give some teams a scare this year. They are not terrible anymore. Even though they are winless in the B1G so far, I think Nebraska looks to be in the same class with Purdue, Illinois, and maybe even Indiana.

I'd wager Ohio wins this game.  If they do not...Umm, they're in serious trouble; not they're not in a bit of trouble anyway as they've ben exploited a bit.  Serious trouble = they aren't a NCAA tournament team.  Drastic?  Maybe, but their struggles on offense are in danger of making them an average team and plenty of average teams are not Dancing in March.

*Edit:  I know this team is 99% going to make the tournament.  I guess I'm saying that if they can't beat Nebraska (again), albeit a better Nebraska than we've ever seen, then the road ahead for them may look very grim.  Their OOC schedule was pretty weak, beating a not very good Marquette and Maryland.  That's it; and now it's Big Ten time, it's only going to get harder.

to see how this game shakes out. Nebraska has seemingly gotten to the basket at will. Ohio has seen a clear lack of actual offense, I.e. the late run was off of ad lib foul taking.

Ohio not as good as people think.  They might come back, but those two things are true.  I think Ohio not quite in the top flight of the B10.  In fact, if you think that MSU/Iowa are that group now, with us and Wiscy next, Ohio might be in the third tier.

I think I enjoy seeing ohio lose more than I should, but man do I get into watching them get smoked. I swear, I don't think any of the Ohio players like each other. It's well documented on BTN that they don't like Craft.

osu can't score in the paint and their tough D is getting killed in the paint. I expect to see quite a bit of 1-3-1 when we play them. I think Braska will hold on and get a big W.

The one thing that sort of stands out so far is Nebraska's 56.89% effective FG percentage, which sort of dwarfs 42.19% from Ohio State on the same metric. If Nebraska would try to mitigate the opportunities that the Buckeyes are getting at the charity stripe, it might not be quit as close right now. I would quote rebounding stats, but so far, no one here seems to believe much in second chance shots.
