NFC championship open thread

Title says it all. First game was kind of slow until the 4th. I expect this game to provide a bit more excitement.

Also, this thread can serve double duty as a Sunday night (of a three day weekend for many) drinking thread.

He can PLAY like that all he wants. Sure, we all want some of that on our team.

But to act like that in an interview once the game is over is bush league. It's bullshit and it's embarassing.

If ANY of our guys did that I'd hope he was kicked off the team. PERIOD.

I don't care about the trash talk on the field, I don't care about the things that go along with the PLAY and the GAME.

But when the game is over and you're being interviewed and representing your team. Show some class.

Don't condone that ignorance.

Exactly I'm sure Crabtree, who is the only player since 2005, to hold out said absolutely nothing.  Sherman's cocky, but he is a way way better imagine for the league than Aldon Smith and his assault weapons.

made it easy for me to root for the Broncos.

I'd like to see the interview when Peyton puts up a game-winning TD on him.

What a dumb ass.

To all of those above who say you're supposed to cocky, I say: keep it on the field. You look like an idiot yelling at the sideline reporter like that. It was a WWF moment in the NFL. Ugh.

She got the winning clip. That was seriously a classic. He was just wound up and something clearly happened between Crabtree and Sherman. He does not typically come across like a jerk imo. he was fired up and just made the play of a lifetime to get his team to the superbowl. Come on. lighten up on him.

You literally don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. Look at his incident with Brady and taunting him Twitter, his interactions with Skip Bayless, tonight, daring the Redskins players to punch him. He's an ass and he loves it .

You watch the Seahawks much?

Sherman is one of the biggest trash talkers and cockiest guys in the league. All started his 2nd year when he went after Revis for the title of best CB in the league.

This was far from surprising.

Ray Lewis was emotional last year after the AFC Championship Game.

And even if he wanted to be all hype...I've got no problem with him screaming about how no one gave him a chance, the doubted his team, how the better team won, etc.

But to call a guy out, call him trash, take the focus off your team and the question being asked is ridiculous.

He can be hype all he wants. He's going to the Super Bowl! Dude, do you. Go crazy. I'm not expecting you to be gracious about it.

But there is a shit ton of middle ground between Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Barry Sanders and that garbage.

Why are people so perturbed by this?  It's what's missing from pro sports.  Nowadays all the stars are rubbing each others backs before the game.  Sherman is like the '89 Pistons.  He is a bad ass and he will tell you that.  I miss the dislike in sports.  Can't wait for the Superbowl.
