Mallet is looking really good on Arkansas' first drive. In that offense, he's going to be able to carry that team for the next few years.

...if Minnesota and Purdue are bad at defense and thus make each others' offenses look good, but they both look pretty capable on offense. This isn't groundbreaking analysis, but the Michigan-Purdue game should be a shootout.

This Illinois defense looks horrible. MSU is running right over them, and it's not like they are doing anything special out there. The Illini front line cannot get any push, and every tackle is being made by the secondary. I'm sure MSU will win this game and they'll be "back", but Illinois looks to be the worst team in the Big 10 right now.

Illinois is definitely as bad as they look this year (and State's offense does have some decent playmakers). Meanwhile, looking at the rest of MSU's schedule (including today), what do people think, 7-5? I'd think the two losses would be to Iowa and PSU with likely wins against Illinois, NW, WMU (or maybe not), and Purdue and a close one against Minnesota. There's also room in there for an upset win and the usual play down to the opponents' level loss.

You'd think State would've worked on NOT taking stupid personal foul penalties after last week, wow

Here's your Rotel-Velveeta combination of the game: Michigan State and 130 yard drives

And the announcers keep talking about how Dantonio is a disciplinarian, yet MSU was 4th in the Big 10 last year in penalties and is currently 2nd this year. So while he might seem tough and gruff, his team continues to play with more recklessness than you would think.

Sparty is not going to lose this game, unfortunately. They'll be 3-3, and we'll have to hear about how they are on their way back. Jebus, it's going to be an annoying week...
