I'm sorry..Craft is nothing but average. Without superstar talent around him all this "hustle" means crap.
If anything hopefully his hype finally dies after this game.

It's not just hustle, he is a great defender. You don't have to score a ton of points to be a very good basketball player. He gave Burke far more trouble than anyone else, and Burke might be rookie of the year this year. That didn't happen because of some media-generated "hustle" meme.
I know everyone hates him and hates OSU. He's still good.

BigTen BBall is just a gauntlet. Will be interesting to see how Sparty fares in their road games as they seem to be the only "dominant" team in The B1G.
January 16th, 2014 at 11:14 PM ^
MSU is dominant? They've gone to OT their last two games.
I think Wisconsin and Iowa are the two best teams in the conference. Michigan/MSU/Ohio are in the next tier.

Eh, MSU is dealing with injuries, if they weren't they do a lot better. (Same for us with McGary). I suppose factoring that in, yeah, that looks to be how it is but if MSU gets healthy they are going to be incredibly difficult to beat.

Combo of both I would say...Minnesota is gelling together nicely and us catching them early worked nicely in our favor. The return game in AA will be a fun one.

One comment is "NIT! NIT! NIT!"
January 16th, 2014 at 11:09 PM ^
Even Sparty doesn't look that dominant at least against Ohio, Minn, and NW. There's a lot of parity.
January 16th, 2014 at 11:14 PM ^
Oh how quickly you forget the beatdown they gave us last year when we were a better team.
Trying to play the ''Let's compare how they've done against common opponents'' game doesn't mean anything. We have to just beat THEM.
January 16th, 2014 at 11:18 PM ^
MSU last year caught us at the tail end of a brutal stretch of games (five games in 11 days, or something) and we didn't have our legs under us. In Crisler we saw the real Michigan team.
Anyway, this isn't the same MSU team as last year - Nix is gone, and Payne is not 100% and probably never will be this season.

While OSU probably is still better than us without McGary and they should be favored when they host us, I think their only good win so far is what.... their comeback against ND?

Their signature win WAS Marquette...who are now 10-7.

While OSU probably is still better than us without McGaryI wouldn't even go that far. They've shown nothing to suggest they're a top 25 team, much less top 10. They simply played a piss-poor OOC schedule and got a miracle in one of the only remotely tough games (ND) they had in December. Given how hard it is to win on the road in CBB, I would give them the edge in Columbus, but on a neutral court I'd like our chances.

A quarter of the way through the Big Ten season and I'm 23/27 on my predictions! Michigan winning @ Minnesota, Minnesota winning @ Penn State, Iowa winning @ OSU, and Purdue winning @ Illinois are the only incorrect guesses I made so far.
My predicted final standings can be found here:

That's indirectly good for our RPI , since Stanford beat UConn.

I think we can get our first win in Columbus in awhile. They are not a very big threat on offense and don't run and that plays into our hands

We've had a ton of injuries too this year. McGary, Robinson x3, and Stauskas.

I think we may lose in EL being a young team in primetime etc. but they are definitely not head and shoulders above us.

OSU plays pretty good D, but no go to guys offensively. Can't say I am shocked; they have had perhaps the roughest B10 schedule to date. Here's hoping we aren't singning the same sad song ten days from now.
Also, Minnesota is a pretty darn good team; agree with the posters that have noted the burnish to our road win there.
