And yet there are a bunch of big name recruits tweeting about how excited they are about the hire of Larry Johnson at Ohio and not the hire of Doug here at Michigan. Until we make some sort of change on the field it may not be the biggest hire especially in the way of recruiting and yet still a huge get for the college as a whole

BK said he was going to officially call the plays for the 2014 season. So yeah, I am wondering what this guy will actually do? I am not sure Gorgeous Al would be the best hire as a QB coach. Although, if his only responsibility is to work with the QBs maybe he will do a good job.

Al Borges has never been a QBs coach and it isn't starting in 2014. If he takes a job, like the Rutgers one mentioned, it'll be for one thing; O-C. That's what he do.

As for the ND hire, Kelly promotes from within so he can call the plays without much head-butting. Can only help his NFL chances if he does it successfully. Only a matter of time.

So, by sticking with Denbrock and also by hiring VanGorder, it looks as if Kelly might very well be getting the old Grand Valley State band back together, as I believe both of these guys worked with him there at various points. Obviously, Denbrock was already on staff at ND, but still, it looks like Kelly tends to stand by the familiar when it comes to hires.

Also, as ken725 notes above "outside receivers coach" is not something you see every day, but reading the entire profile, you see several tight ends among his "dynamic disciples", whatever this means. I assume he works a lot with "other guys that will catch passes on occasion".
