it doesn't look like she is enjoying the conversation.

It will happen.

is going senile. Oh wait he's been this way for years.
Amazing thing is Herbstreit didn't seem to notice. Oh wait people don't play at Ohio State to go to school.

Oh Musberger. It's about time you retire. The last few years have been a mess for you.

Having to root for an FSU team led by an alleged rapist who thinks God cares if he wins a football game was easy by comparison. ACC! ACC! ACC!

finally gets some vindication. His hand-picked successor, Jimbo Fisher, steps out from the shadow of his mentor, while the SEC looks to ESPN for hugs and reassurance.

ESPN is giving the SEC plenty of reassurance with very passionate consolation knob-slobbing for next year.

Did anyone else notice that during all the pregame coverage the coverage was skewed vastly in the direction of Auburn. I felt like they didn't even freakin talk about FSU for a solid hour there before kickoff.
ESPN and CBS are shameless homers for the SEC. I can't wait till next year they're advocating for 3 SEC teams in the playoff.
I so so hope that the SEC starts a streak of not winning the national title so every can do me a favor and STFU.

Anyone else notice how Musberger called Auburn's season one of the most remarkable in SEC history? Not Auburn or college football history - SEC history.

I don't want to be a debbie-downer, but what is stopping ESPN and CBS from being all like: "the SEC is awesome and all four teams in the playoffs should be SEC teams...."
I can see a scenario where every year we have two SEC teams in the playoff, bettering their chances to win. OR I can even see a possibility of THREE SEC teams making it one year if there is a year where there is only one undefeated team (Alabama) and two 1-loss teams, one from SEC west and one from SEC east. And god forbid, the only non-SEC team is from the American conference..... I would prefer a tournament format like that of the FCS (formerly I-AA) to just a bastardized BCS with a tiny playoff.

I hate the SEC...

Until the mix of top players changes you will more than likely see people talking about the SEC as the top power conference. Of course a few years back to back of high draft classes could in theory leave the cupboards bare. That is assuming the recruiting doesn't allow them to reload each year.
January 7th, 2014 at 10:37 AM ^
The era of SEC preeminence is ending because the BCS is over and Auburn lost. OK.
January 7th, 2014 at 11:34 AM ^
Who said that? I think people are just happy to see them lose and at least dent the narrative a bit.
January 7th, 2014 at 10:56 AM ^
I wonder what excuses Finebaum will offer as defense as the still greatness of the SEC?

They had to survive the SEC gauntlet while FSU had it easy all year?
Or as our othe thread hinted, they may just say FSU is like a SEC team.

Also, when Auburn scored their last touchdown to go ahead, Brent said something about looking like they had one more miracle left. Really? Scoring a late touchdown to go ahead after blowing a big lead is a miracle?

I hate looking at bowl records. I mean look at bowl games like the Alamo Bowl where Oregon got a favorable matchup with Texas so they should win. It's hard to look at these bowl records every year.
