With the conclusion of the 2013 college football season ending in thrilling fashion tonight, there are now 235 days until Michigan kicks off the season at home vs App State.

CAN'T WAIT (Bart Scott Voice)

Let's hope the 2014 offseason treats us well.

EDIT: ESS EEE SEE goes down! Commence!

So tired of fans of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Missisippi State, Kentucky, Tennessee and sometimes Georgia and Florida using the SEC to justify their meidocre team going 5-7, 7-5, 8-4, etc. No you wouldn't go undefeated in any other conference, you just aren't very good.

I know a guy who is a huge Kentucky fan (so big he said he cried when they won the national title in basketball...too bad it will be vacated in 5 years) and all he does is talk about how the SEC is soo awesome. I also tell him to shut up because his team wouldn't compete in the Sun Belt. The fans of crappy SEC teams are the worst part of the SEC!

Brent Musburger's (and ESPN's) hard on for the SEC stayed true to the final seconds. Rather than talking about how amazing Florida State's comeback was...he's talking about the legendary season of Auburn. Combine that with his blase call on the TD pass for FSU with 11 seconds left to put them ahead. It's just embarassing.

Oh and I already can't wait til football season starts!

the headline/lead story scroll on the left side of the screen was all about Alabama - not a single word on the screen about Oklahoma. ESPN is beyond pitiful. Of course the only thing they are better at than creating a story is destroying the object of the story. I'd be nervous if I were the SEC.

It really is embarassing how biased they have (likely intentionally) become towards the SEC. As much as I like what Malzahn has done at Auburn and have never really liked FSU, it was GREAT to see SEC go down.

PS. Wouldn't ESPN also be happy for ACC? Don't they also own ACC network too?

College football is the greatest sport on Earth. What a great conclusion to a brilliant season.

Unfortunately, Michigan's season leaves most of us with a sour taste in our mouths. But herein lies one of the hidden strengths of the game: The long offseason. Now there is a time to flush out the bile, to rest, to reset. And to build that hunger again. And by August, we will be ready to go again, ready to ride the weekly rollercoaster.

Bring it.

When is it going to be our time?

I hate hearing this too but we have one of these things in the last 60 years.

Watching that awards ceremony that's all I could think, when will this be us?  Then I stopped thinking about it because on our current trajectory..........well let's just enjoy SEC sadness for a while.

I always go onto the Fanatics shop site for the team that wins the championship and imagine it with Michigan logos on that Michigan won it.

All I've done most of my life where I was old enough to understand football was dream and say oh shucks maybe some day.

One thing to remember: This same Auburn team went 3-9 last year. They went 12-2 this year and were a couple of plays away from the championship.

Not saying Michigan is going to do that next year but it is definitely a possibility. I think our coaches know it's game time. The Mathletes chart said it well. 2011 was a huge success that outpaced pretty much anybody's expectations. Last season was kind of where people thought we'd be given the schedule. This year let's not talk about it's ova.

Literally the sky's the limit next year but one way or another I think we are going to know where the Hoke era is going. I still think he should get the fifth year but next year will show the trend is reversing and going up or it is going down.

Either way the SEC has been brought to heel and for that I am thankful.

Probably would be wise to lower our expectations at least for the foreseeable future. Nobody's fault - just the "landscape" now. The South and West have great athletes and many are drawn to SEC, Big 12, and PAC "10" schools. Climate, coverage, reputation, history, etc.

True, some go elsewhere but in BT country, Ohio is still a top draw and MSU is above us at least for now. Ohio still has a better pool of in state recruits then we do and they can recruit nationally. As can we and now, at least for now, MSU.

So, let's expect to contend for the BT east, win it at least once every 3-4 years and going to a major bowl. Being a top 4 team is just too daunting right now.

Feel worse for the Purdues, Indiana's, etc of the conference.
