...to make it to that game. Otherwise, we'll have a new quarterback playing his first game on a very national stage.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:19 AM ^
You never know what'll happen with Wilton or whoever we recruit until then. Also, by that point he should have a (hopefully) very veteran, dominant offensive line and a junior Damien Harris to hand the ball off to.
Whoever the QB is, he won't have a shortage of weapons to give the ball to. Especially if Peppers is still around.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:21 AM ^
Unless Wilton Speight or a 2015 signee beats Morris out for the starting job by 2016 (the latter is obviously highly unlikely). 2017 is a long way off to be worried that we might be breaking in a new QB.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:08 AM ^
What's the line on this game?
What recruits will be there?
I can't believe they don't have rankings out for this.
IS NO ONE DOING THEIR JOB??????!@!@!!!!!!!

Visitors list:
Tom Brady, Jr.
Drew Henson, Jr.
David Terrell, Jr.
Ian Gold, Jr.
James Hall, Jr.
Dhani Jones, Jr.
A random selection of Antonio Cromartie's kids
December 19th, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
Will a true sophomore Henson Jr be able to beat out a senior Brady Jr?
December 19th, 2013 at 12:22 PM ^
Michigan is ranked #10, but mostly becaues O.C. Loeffler is breaking in a new QB. MGoBlog is split 50/50 on whether we should start true freshman Blontavious Margolionezstein or 5th year-senior, former walk-on, Chad Collins-Brady (Wilton Speight is a returning 1st team all-B1G tight end and is wearing Riermesma's legends jersey).
And of course, even though Michigan is starting five 5th year seniors on the Nation's best O-line, many of you are bitching that the true freshman 5-star kid from Ohio should should start at Left Tackle because he's "college ready."
Coach Narduzzi's Gators are ranked #11.

/ GIS "Night Sweats" and this popped up. Appropriate.

Is the band going??!!
December 19th, 2013 at 10:07 AM ^
That leaves plenty of time to learn Georgia Southern's offense.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:40 AM ^
will have to learn the offense of whoever the 2016 coach of Arkansas State is.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:08 AM ^
Cincy and Air Force at home plus the big 10 slate
MSU / Rutgers / Minny / Ohio State
Should be an interesting season but only 6 games
Would have preferred this game during a 5 home game B10 season
December 19th, 2013 at 10:28 AM ^
Only 6 home games and would have preferred it to be in 16 or 18. No biggie, that place was amazing and fun.
December 19th, 2013 at 1:08 PM ^
1) did you see the '18 schedule. Isn't that the year we get Nebraska and Wisconsin in our crossover games from the West Division? No thanks. That schedule is hard enough.
(2) why the hell does Brandon feel like he has to revisit many of the bad memories of our recent past. First scheduling App State and now a return to Jerry-World.
(3) why the F@&K does Brandon keep selling away all the potential good home and home series. Did he not hear all the criticism and bitching the first time he did this. The fact that Brandon doesn't seem to listen to or give a crap about the general fan base of Michigan really pisses me off.
December 19th, 2013 at 1:48 PM ^
He didn't hear it because it wasn't there. Maybe the donors and ex-players liked the idea. I think it's a great idea, especially in a year where he really does not have room for a home and home against a potentially tough team. This game basically replaces ND and in the years after this the already have a tough opponent scheduled. Or at least potentially tough. He got a what will be a prime time game scheduled with lots of exposure, which is good for the program. A ton of fans from Michigan will be there, so it's not bad for the fan base. And for once you can't say he is doing it for the money, because we all know they won't make more money on this outing.
December 19th, 2013 at 4:14 PM ^
The whole "exposure" thing is only good for the program if we win, or at least lose close in an epic thriller. If we go down there and get our asses handed to us again, the only exposure we will have gained is more along the lines of a laughing stock from a weak conference. This type of game should be between two perennial top-10 teams. Here's hoping we make it back to that point over the next three years, otherwise this game could do more harm than good.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:33 AM ^
I'd love to see Michigan travel to C-Springs to play AF...that'd be fun for this AFA grad! Very scenic place to play a football game at the base of the Rocky Mountains.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:09 AM ^
Had a blast at the first one , even though the results weren't great. I'd definitely go again!
December 19th, 2013 at 10:10 AM ^
Who will the coaches be?
December 19th, 2013 at 10:29 AM ^
Scott Loeffler and Danny Wuerfeul
December 19th, 2013 at 11:14 AM ^
Not yet he was hired in my 2020 season of NCAA football for o-coordinator. He came with most of the coaching tree perks unlockable too!
December 19th, 2013 at 11:47 AM ^
Oh, I was hoping that two fine RBs in Mike Hart and Tim Tebow would be matching wits on the sidelines
December 19th, 2013 at 2:14 PM ^
the way things are going they will probably dig Bo up and prop him up on the sidelines. with the headset on of course.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:11 AM ^
Sweet. Hopefully we won't have a new coach that year and be completely outmatched just like in 2012.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:13 AM ^
but I think it needs repeating...
You must be a blast at parties.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:15 AM ^
You should attend one sometime.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:16 AM ^
Not if you're in attendance.
December 19th, 2013 at 2:06 PM ^
Your place or mine? I heard something on the StarFleetWeb about Vulcan and an explosion?
December 19th, 2013 at 10:11 AM ^
well hopefully they can't get better too quickly either.

#MMBtoDallas
December 19th, 2013 at 10:17 AM ^
Well, at least this time it will be more of a road game for BOTH teams. The game against Bama was not a "neutral site"...not that it really mattered, but still.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:20 AM ^
Dave Brandon is doubling down on the strength of schedule argument for the playoffs. I hope it pays off.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:34 AM ^
I'm not sure Florida is really a positive for SoS
December 19th, 2013 at 10:42 AM ^
of stigma. A win over a terrible SEC team is a much better win than a competent B1G or Pac 12 team
December 19th, 2013 at 12:35 PM ^
A win over a meh Florida team does more to help us than a win over a good ND team. If we beat ND, everyone just assumes it's the same old Notre Dame. Even if Florida has a down year, it's still a traditionally elite SEC program, which does wonders for your SOS if you beat them.
Especially as a Big Ten team.
December 19th, 2013 at 11:01 AM ^
How do you figure? While FL is a gamble, the rest of the OOC games aren't exactly examples of strength and the B1G could weak. I think this is more of a recruiting move and to show we're back. Gives Hoke 3 more years to get his players fully functional and rocking. Assuming that is what happens.

You're trying to put a sexual spin on the idea?

Sounds painful.

Tell us what you really think
December 19th, 2013 at 10:30 AM ^
Hate the neutral site games. Just takes everything that's fun about the college game and flushes it down the shitter.
Like scheduling these teams, just find a way to put them on campus. Theirs and ours.
I see as usual, Don said it much better. /\
December 19th, 2013 at 5:30 PM ^
Bilbo? Baggins of the shire?
December 19th, 2013 at 10:12 PM ^
it was possible to schedule a home and home with a southern team where they come up in November...the trade off of course would be asking Michigan to play at their place in the humidity of the first weekend of September...that would be a true home and home
December 19th, 2013 at 10:30 AM ^
First non conference game for Florida out of the state since 1991 per twitter. How do programs get away with this? Crazy.
December 19th, 2013 at 1:48 PM ^
It's that SEC Scheduling.
Also they have two BCS level instate rivals in Miami and FSU. I don't know how often they play both teams but the real travesty is the world's largest cocktail party where they get a de facto home game in Jacksonville and never have to play between the hedges.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:30 AM ^
Please god, let this be the small push in recruiting we need to keep kids interested until we start playing to our potential
December 19th, 2013 at 10:33 AM ^
is a turd of epic proportions. Maybe its Brandon's fault or maybe this is just the reality of college football these days where "elite" programs refuse to do home and homes, but either way it sucks.
December 19th, 2013 at 10:46 AM ^
MSU got Oregon to do a home and home. OSU got VT and Oklahoma to do home and homes. I think this is all Dave Brandon.
December 19th, 2013 at 11:33 AM ^
Yeah we've also got VT doing a home and home with us. Along with UCLA and Arkansas.
