Dropped Out: Oklahoma (#17), Michigan (#20), UCLA (#21), California (#25).
The delta values don't appear to be working properly, so don't worry if something doesn't look quite right. It doesn't matter anyway, because I'm tossing out the previous week's ballot and starting fresh each Monday. The poll has come to a point where I'm having difficulty resolving a slightly better group of wins and a loss against a slightly weaker group of wins and an undefeated record. As always, thoughts on that problem and other comments are welcome.

Why would Oklahoma drop out? If they played Texas' non-conference schedule they would be ranked somewhere in the top 5 right now and be a legit title contender. Man, college football is ridiculous.

Oklahoma hasn't beaten anybody. When they have things like "accomplishments" on the "field," maybe they'll be worthy of a ranking.

You might want to add Stanford to at least your chart for consideration. They are 4-1 with their one loss at wake forest and have beaten UCLA and Washington. That's at least deserving of consideration for the top 25, as much as teams 20-25 in your rankings.

Yes, I know they're feasting on minnows but oh, what a feast. They're appropriately blowing the weak teams on their schedule out of the water and look how much Iowa stuggled against Ark. St.; Nebraska flat out trounced that team. They also went to VT and gave them all they could handle, losing on a last minute bomb (I think).
Oklahoma also deserves more love though I admit two losses makes it tough to make a case for them. Still losing on the road by 1 to BYU (18) and Miami (10) without Sam Bradford is a testament to the strenght of Oklahoma.
Meanwhile Notre Dame gets pushed to its limit 4 weeks in a row by good but not great teams. Loses to Michigan, gets bailed out by Cousins vs. MSU, gets bailed out by Hope vs. Purdue, and bailed out by the refs vs. Washington (failed 2pt conversion). They are not a top 25 team.

I'm finally on the Miami train. They have played, hands down, the toughest 4 game schedule in the country and have a 3-1 record. They should be just below the only team that has beaten them, VT.

I can understand why you drop TCU three, but it will look foolish later on. Ohio State and USC haven't proven themselves better than TCU with their games this past weekend.
Boise's about right, IME.

At the very least, Nebraska and South Florida deserve to be at the top of the "also receiving votes" analog. (Certainly ahead of Cal, who shouldn't even be on the same internet as this poll after getting outscored 72-6 in the past two weeks.)
To put at least Nebraska on, I'd demote 2-loss Georgia. 1 loss to a top 5 team has got to trump to 2 losses to teams ranked lower.
Otherwise, only TCU stands out to me as overrated. Not sure, say, Wisconsin's top 4 wins (Minnesota, Mich. State, Fresno, No. Ill.) don't measure up to TCU's (Clemson, UVA, SMU, Texas St.).

I like Texas's resume better. Florida hasn't beaten a single team with a winning record, and Texas's resume is boosted by the UTEP win over Houston.

Still, there is no way that Texas and Florida have two of the top resumés in the country. Iowa's is better for example. Many others are too.

I actually tend to agree with you, White Tiger. I'm still having an existential moment of contemplation about dropping those two way down.
I think I'm trying to stall a week, and they'll have chances to prove they belong soon enough.

Thank you, it's just that I'm kind of sick of them being so high in all the polls, when neither has really done anything. A team with a "good" loss, and a far better collection of wins should be rewarded more than beating up on bad teams and beating a mediocre conference foe at home by 10 (Virginia Tech has a better resumé than Texas).
For the record, I do agree with your poll for the most part. Alabama should be the number one team. After that however, I tend to disagree. Personally I think Iowa (!) should be number two. Show me a team with two non-conference wins against BCS foes (yeah, yeah Iowa State isn't that good), a win on the road against a Top-10 caliber team, and no other losses (who cares about hiccups, bottom line, they won). USC beat a Top-10 caliber team, on the road, and lost to surprisingly good Washington team. Virginia Tech thrashed a great Miami team, lost to the number one team by ten, and beat a good Nebraska team. LSU beat Georgia and UW on the road. Miami went 3-1 with the toughest schedule in the country but yeah, they got killed. Auburn has done well against 3 BCS teams and is undefeated. Heck even South Florida has a comparable resum to Texas and Florida, maybe even better.
Food for thought.

...ought to be ranked ahead of undefeated Iowa?
Of the three of them, their overall strength of schedule is pretty much the same, right? Cincy might have played the best overall group of five teams to date.
And yet of the three, the biggest statement win was Iowa's beating PSU on the road. Bigger than BSU's beating Oregon at home.
The argument(s) about BSU at the end of an undefeated regular season are another matter; right now, isn't there a solid case to be made that especially Iowa, and also Cincy, have a much better five-game resume than Boise State?
