OT - F-ck Cancer Posbang Thread

As many of u know (ad nauseum...sorry) my wife's cancer recently returned (on our anniversary) and we were forced to travel all over the country to seek out the latest treatment to fight her metastastic (stage 4) breast cancer that had spread to her lungs. We were able to get on an experimental trial for a new drug (an enzyme that attacks the cancer's ability to replicate), were fortunate to be selected to the group that received the drug, and within 6 weeks the cancer has reduced in size about 20-30%. My wife is a fighter and continues to amaze me as she fights through this. Since my wife and I are both Wolverines, it is a slow day, and the old voting system is back...I thought I would say FUCK (all) CANCER and go blue! And I wanted to give a special thank you to ALL of you that have left me very supportive posts (in the past and down below) AND thank you Brian and all of you at MGoBlog for giving me (and others that have to deal with these type of situations) an amazing diversion to clear my mind during an extremely tough year! EDIT: You guys and this community are unbelievable. Thank you (you have all received an up vote from me)! I can't believe how many people on here have been affected by cancer, both directly and indirectly...it is a horrible fucking disease. So FUCK CANCER (again) and props to all of the good people out there in the research community that are working to eradicate it and making it easier for people to live with cancer!

Fuck the Cancer man! Lost two grandparents, damn near lost my sister while she was a sophomore at Michigan and my mother and both aunts have had cancer. I also lost my favorite professor at Michigan to cancer back in 2002 and started a scholarship at Michigan in his name for UofM students who have cancer or whose family members have cancer and have their finances ripped apart by it. FUCK YOU CANCER!!!

As a physician and a son whose mother is dealing with an incurable form of cancer, I heartily agree with the F_ck Cancer sentiment.

Okay, I am going to put it out there. I thought this was going to be just a random posbang like the other. I was going to wise crack and say, "This should be a I'd F-ck Kate Upton Posbang Thread." I am sorry for assuming that before entering.

Thanks for surprising me, and sharing this wonderful story of triumph. Your wife sounds like a fighter. What a bad ass that woman is. Prayers out to both of you and your family. And a wholehearted Fuck Cancer to boot.

Fuck cancer is right.

I lost a good friend almost one year ago to brain cancer whcih made his high school experience difficult and prevented him from starting college at Yale...but he battled to the end.

Best of luck in the struggle, and let's hope the good trend continues.  Having the right positive attitude always makes a difference regardless of the type of treatments, and hopefully your wife knows that there are a lot of complete strangers like me that are thinking of her and wishing her (and you of course) all the positive energy we can muster.

I wish that posts like this would make some of our, ummm... less tactful... posters realize that we're all people with real life problems and difficulties, and that sometimes being civil can go a long way toward making life easier.

I work in investigational drugs, and there is some great work being done. It's a bit ironic that I had to get a biopsy done on Tuesday and have to wait until next Tuesday to find out if I have skin cancer. So yeah, Fuck Cancer! !!

I can definitely get behind this. 

It is excellent to hear that your wife is responding to the treatment - hopefully, things look up from here for you guys. Go Blue to both of you!

As for cancer, yeah, it can take a long walk off a short pier. Three of my four grandparents died from some form of it over the years, as well as two of my aunts and even a cousin.

I lost 3 of my grandparents to it, and my mom had it but beat it, as well. Basically that's the only risk factor in my family, so I know that's what's gonna kill me too some day. But f*ck cancer! I hope the doctors cure it before it gets me.

To Cali Wolverine - I hope the new drug continues to work well on your wife and that she makes a full recovery. That would be a great thing. Keep sharing the news on this, f*ck people that complained about you in the past when you'd talk about this on here.

My dad is currently battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, so I will second that sentiment and say f#ck cancer. Maybe take a look into The Phoenix Project and Rick Simpson if modern medicine fails you.
