Help Me Remember...

...who it was that wrote the preseason post about how the season would start 4-0 to much accolades and national attention followed by a loss to Sparty. Whoever it was was brilliant in describing exactly how things have unfolded so far. He also wrote about how we would *also* lose to Iowa. I'm just hoping we can get him to write a retraction...

After seeing how our defense performed against Indiana and Michigan State, I have a bad feeling about the Iowa game. I'm really hoping that our defense can get some good practice this week so they can bring their A-game on Saturday.

at all. Iowa's defense is what won them the game against PSU, not their offense. If our D can step up and play decently again (they did not play poorly at all against State), we have a very good shot at winning. It all comes down to how our O plays. If they can correct the mistakes from the MSU game (dropped passes, bad reads, missed blocks) and execute well, we should win handily. If not, it'll be another long, low-scoring affair.
I say, 31-14 us, but we get two TDs in the 4th (meaning it's 17-14 going into the 4th). The offense will be shaky at first and Iowa is up at the half (14-10), but memories of the game this week will light a fire under the O's asses and they'll come out firing on all cylinders in the second half.
But, that's only my epinion...

Someone had a post where they talked about how we would beat ND, that would generate a ton of national attention. Then we'd win the next two, M would be ranked and 4-0 and the MSM would be talking about how M was "back." Then we'd lose the next two and the MSM would be all over us about how much we suck. My opinion was that it was a good post about how reactive (instead of insightful or accurately predictive) the media is. I thought it was worth bringing back up, but I can't remember who wrote it, or even what the title was, so it is hard to search for. Love the interwebs cynics...

Honestly, that wasn't that bold of a prediction. We were a double-digit favorite in three of our four September games. Only the ND win could be considered an upset. And picking us to lose in EL was also not really going out on a limb.
