Congratulations to msu

As much as I hate it, Dantonio is an incredible coach. 2 conference titles in the last 4 years, a 12 win season this year. Sparty No is dead. The Spartans are not going away.

Dantonio and Urban will be equally as hard to defeat for the near future.

Thank you for shutting up osu, though.

Not happy for their coach or their asswipe fanbase, nor for the SEC being allowed back into the title pic (GO 'NOLES), but yeah, their players certainly earned it, and seeing pissy Urbz makes it all worthwhile. Go Green, Go White, and all that. And more importantly now, GO CARDINAL.

Would the MSU that played tonight still have lost to ND?  Methinks not.  If I'm playing the role of Captain Hindsight, if MSU beats ND, they are prob playing FSU...insanity...

It really kinda sucks that Michigan State is exactly what Michgian wants to be...dominating defense and the abillity to pound the ball down your throat when it matters. Their entire team is just physically and mentally tough. I really hope we get there sooner rather than later.

You don't have to like it, but you should like it more than OSU winning.  We laughed at their offense all season and then they crushed us.  Then they crushed OSU.  They are the best in the B1G.  It would be nice if so-called Michigan Men around here would act accordingly, instead of acting like a piss poor sport.  Do you stomp off the golf course when you lose and give the bird to the people who beat you?  Typically, a hand shake and a "well played" is in order.    Grow up.

This is a thread where those of us still feeling the sting of Michigan's disappointing season can come and take solace in the end of OSU's chances at a national title, and pass on some begrudging respect to a team that deserves it. You are the reason the "state of the site" post was necessary. Feel bad about yourselves.

I refused to watch the game...because I hate both teams...and their fans. A Sparty win or loss tonight would have resulted in a Sparty trip to the Rose Bowl either way (provided a 1 loss Auburn would not have jumped Ohio in the polls). However, a Sparty win ensured Ohio and Urb do not go to the NC game...so I am happy with tonight's result!

"Sparty No is dead. The Spartans are not going away."

Disagree completely. They won a lot of games and did Michigan fans a solid by ruing Ohio's streak and title hopes, but one year does not erase the entirety of failure that is Sparty No, especially considering they still have a chance for a moment against Stanford.

And MSU will be relatively tough for Michigan as long as Dantonio is there, but to compare him to Meyer is just absurd.

My interpretation of Sparty No is having a a promising moment of hope dashed by a dumbass mistake i.e. 2011 Big Ten game, all of 2012, and that's jus the two previous seasons. And just because they have had three successful years in the last 4 or 5 doesnt completely erase the hundred plus that proceeded it.

MSU will be tough during the next few years, especiallf if Narduzi stays (which I dno't think he will), but you seem to be giving the impression that they have finally become the juggernaut that RCMB has been trying to convince themselves.

Looking at it objectively, MSU has hit their crest from all of the success in recruiting from the Rich Rod years. They have done a good job in building up 2-3-4 star tweeners to all conference players (almost entirely on defense), but I find it hard to believe that Narduzzi, who many believe is a major reason behind this success, will stay at MSU and wait for Dantonio to quit/retire/leave. Everyone knew Will Muschamp was going to take over for Mack Brown at Texas, and look how that turned out. Bottom line: MSU isn't in a much better position than Michigan for the forseeable future, and not much is a better indicator of that more than recruiting
