Big 10 Championship Game Open Thread

Submitted by alum96 on

No meteors seem in the forecast in the greater Indiana area per NASA, so we'll be forced to watch our top 2 competitors in the East face off.  Short of a 25+ pt blowout MSU is destined for the Rose, OSU is playing for the right to give up 60 pts to Florida State.

Have at it....

There are a handfull of teams I really hate rooting for.  The short list is OSU, MSU, ND, USC, FSU, Bama, & Okla.  I really hate it when the world forces me to root for one of these teams just to keep OSU out of a national title.  With that said go Sparty & Noles!

Why oklahoma- I have zero feelings about them, we never cross paths.  I still remember FSU depantsing us in the early 90s.  USC in Rose Bowls...but no real feel for Oklahoma.

I didn't go to UM, my Dad did.  I was born in AA, but moved away when I was young.  I became a fan from my parents.  My parents were at the '76 Orange Bowl with UM vs Okla when UM got beat.  So, I sorta inherited that one.  My parents still cringe at the OU fight song.  Plus, I lived in Texas for 10 years as a kid and sorta passively rooted for UT ever since, at least as far as Big 12 rooting interests goes.  I personally really liked UT in the Major Applewhite, Chris Simms, Vince Young years (minus the '05 Rose Bowl) and OU was really good then too, so I pretty much hated them.  Plus Stoops is an Ohio guy.

That was a false start on Miller.

If he catches that and runs for the first down after he's moving foward at the snap...Sparty is going crazy.

That would be one hell of a play to be able to run forward at the snap.

Sparty might not have a great offense, but it's doing its job to perfection right now. It's keeping Miller and Hyde off the field. Look at how much clock they're eating up.

That's the only way you're going to truly beat those guys.

I quickly felt the desire rise for an Ohio loss, with the smug Meyers, the talk of not losing for two years.  This is a game about whether Ohio is great.  No matter, MSU had a great year.  No matter MSU will go to the Rose Bowl.  The only great loss here will be when Ohio loses.

yelp. go green. yelp. go white.

FWIW down here in Ohio my Michigan flag is still proudly flying from my flagpole.  I'm known to all my neighbors as "that Michigan flag guy".

And proud of it.

Thank you for doing that.  I have lived in the Northeast for quite some time.  Unfortunatley I see more OSU fans than UM fans.  Every single one of them annoys the living heck out of me.  I can't imagine what you must go through.

OSU's line being able to handle MSU's players 1-v-1 is going to cause issues. Can OSU make MSU pay for the blitzes that are coming soon?

that feeling is building so strongly with me.

The only great loss here would be for Ohio.  If MSU loses, what do they lose?  They still go to the Rose Bowl.  They can't gloat as much.  I don't know.  I worry slightly about their recruiting benefits.  But really, they've been "better" on the field for a few years.  Winning the B1G won't really add to that.

OSU?  Sheeeeeet.  Just give Urban his loss.  Not Championship game.  That is something to cheer for!

This is exactly how I expected the game to go. Granted it's only one quarter, but I am not surprised thus far
