Great tribute to Devin
I think that Devin will go down as one of Michigan's great quarterbacks when all is said and done. He's had his ups and downs, but he didn't have the line or running back support that Henne, Brady, Henson or Griese had. I was impressed that the players wanted to go for 2 -- it reminded me of the 2000 game when the players convinced Lloyd to let Henson bootleg a short yardage touchdown run with obviiously better results.

Guy played his heart out today. Absolutely shredded that Ohio State defense. He should have earned the fans respect by the end of that game.

Absolutely. Magnuson will replace one of Lewan and Schofield, and he looked VERY good today. And Kugler will probably start at center.

I'm sure we'll debate everything under the sun in the offseason, but let's not debate this: Devin Gardner is a Michigan quarterback that we can all be proud of.

I have to admit, after taking the dive short of the first down in the MSU game I've felt he was a little soft. He definitely had a gutsy performance today. He made me proud!

But maybe not as long as we all thought. Not a whole lot of room for improvement today. Most of his problems start with protection and route running. Really hoping next year he can live up to the hype more consistently.

but at least i don't think he is good at reading defense, sometimes, confuse where the blitz will come? This is not a new problem though if you look at Denard's career. That, i think tells alot about our QB coach. his last play also tells me the same, but i would blame Borges call a bad play more than himself throwing to a wrong spot under pressure.

I don't see how anyone can doubt that Devin Gardner is blue through and through and doubt that he gives his absolute best to this team on a daily basis. It has always been clear, and perhaps most clear today, that this is precisely what he does. There were some good performances today, but Gardner did not quit, even when hurt, and produced at an incredible level.

Fun fact:
Gardner hasn't thrown an interception since the Michigan State game about a month ago.
I'm very anxious to see a healthy/rested Gardner play in the bowl game.

Devin Gardner is a warrior. Does he have improvements he needs to make? Of course, but I love the direction he's headed in. We can talk until we are blue in the face about things he's done less than perfectly this year, but let's just admire the kid for what he is for now, which is a tough dude who believes in being a Michigan Man. I for one couldn't be more proud of him.

No one can really give Devin shit about anything anymore. He willed that team to near-victory and shredded the OSU defense. For a guy who had his confidence seemingly crushed in recent weeks, he looked like an NFL QB managing the pocket today.
IIRC, the only mistake he really made was the 2 pt conversion try (considering that fumble was BS). The only reason this game was 42-41 instead of 42-14 was him

You know times are changing when someone makes a post about our QB who has lost two straight years to OSU is going to go down in history as one of the best Mchigan QBs of all time.
I honestly don't think many people on this board remember what it is like to actually win games. We lost today. We have lost 9 of the past 11 years to OSU. Stop acting like we won, it's depressing.
OSU has won, and not just today. They have beaten wolverines to the point where we consider a 1 point loss a victory. To the point where we hail a quarterback who lead us to a 7-5 season, 8th in the big ten.
Devin has outstanding character. He is a bright young man. He is not one of the all time great MIchigan QBs.

This isn't a good Michigan team. We all know that. It isn't even the quality of those 90's 4 loss teams that beat OSU consistently yet they damn near ruined OSU's season.
It isn't "blowing sunshine up someone's ass" to acknowledge a terrific performance in an otherwise bad season. Just because you want to be ANGAR!!!!!!!!!! that doesn't mean we have to be.
I think you fellows need to step away from watching football. This is a game. It's not life or death. It's not all that important. It is entertainment.

This was a tough season. We have a TON of youth that gained experience and will be returning next year. This year was a stumble.
Forgive us sane people for appreciating a great game today - by Devin and Borges and Hoke. I think this team is destined for greatness next year. Saban went 8-4 in year 4 at Bama before this monster run. Sparty went 7-6 last year before this years run. Harbaugh had a losing record before getting the ball rolling to BCS games at Stanford.
Just enjoy the ride and stop crapping on everybody who doesn't want to paint everything in blood and gore for this season. Can't this just be a good learning experience for our team? Nope ... You have to rip down a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds working their asses off to beat a much, much better rival.

We played a great game as a 4-loss team against an OSU team on a 23(?) game win streak. There's also too many people clinging to the 90's like we're loaded every year, John Cooper is the coach, and we aren't getting over a solid 5 years of suckitude. We suck this year and are still recovering from a few disastrous years of Richrod's recruiting. Sorry everyone is happy that a bunch of 18-22 guys from Michigan played their collective ass off today and nearly beat a great Buckeye team. Considering everyone expected us to lose by 20+, the performance today is worthy of some praise. People are acting like we were supposed to win this game or last years game. GIven that we sucked coming in, Im extremely proud of our team today

The Devin Gardner-led offense scored 41 points on OSU today. How many other Michigan teams have scored that many points on OSU in the last 50 years?
Assigning the loss on him is basically blaming him for the fact that our defense gave up 42 points.

Boys,
I'm not happy about where we are in terms of our team's performance since 2007, but we are where we are. Pretty obvious that we are rebuilding, and that it is going to be a longer process than we like. The talent on the roster is young, and therefore is pretty inconsistant. Lots of consternation, coach questioning, player questioning, etc are going to continue as they did in the late Carr years as Tressel and OSU eclipsed us on a regular basis. We had better hope that Hoke and his coaches that he decides to retain or hire/fire are the answer, because if they are not, we are going to suffer greatly for another 4-5 years at a minimum. We have had one good season since 2006, and that was a 2011 11-2 season with this now being abused coaching staff. Hope springs eternal, and if we continue to rebuild the talent base we will get back to where we want to be.

Great game by Devin and really the whole offense. Fitz did a better job of setting up his blocks and all of the backfield was better at hitting holes and picking up blocks.
Also, for all of those claiming that Devin had regressed, take a look at his numbers so far this year. He has 2960 pass yards on 60.3% with 21 TDs and 11 ints plus 483 rush yards and 11 TDs. That is #2 in the Michigan record books (371 behind Navarre for a single season) and he was playing hurt for the last 4 or 5 games. In the last six games he had 15 TDs and 3 or 4 turnovers.
If anything, he has improved from the beginning of the season, despite the rest of the offensive struggles.
