Mgoblog (Brian) Twitter rant

Looks like bowling didn't go too well

mgoblog @mgoblog 26m

I'm just done with people who are mad at me for reacting how I do to Michigan football. If you don't like it, I don't care

mgoblog @mgoblog 26m

For years I let people talk shit to me because I felt some sort of duty to them because they'd been around a while.

mgoblog @mgoblog 25m

That was a mistake. If you are surprised that I am emotional and moody at this point you are too stupid to care about.

mgoblog @mgoblog 25m

I have taken epic tons of shit for being in a bad mental spot this year; and somehow I managed to feel bad about that.

mgoblog @mgoblog 24m

No more. I'm done taking shit from internet anons because I'm not happy about losing to OSU 9 of 10 years.

mgoblog @mgoblog 24m

I don't owe you a damn thing. Read it or don't.

mgoblog @mgoblog 3m

most people are not reacting like that, but shitheads are louder. this is going to have an effect on MGoBlog.

mgoblog @mgoblog 2m

Your point total is irrelevant to my decisions. If you're making our lives shitty, you're gone

mgoblog @mgoblog 2m

This whole season has been 50% nightmare team, 50% nightmare community. I can fix half of that.

It's funny, whenever the decline of this blog's community is brought up, everyone seems to have someone else in mind for what kind of poster is to blame.

In Brian's defense (I guess) it is pretty amazing how fickle some people have been about the coaching. The staff appears to be across-the-board awesome to them now. That doesn't square with most of the season.

I love MGoBlog...

Part of me even loves the assholes...

I have some ENORMOUS mood swings as a Michigan fan, and I'm happy that there's a forum for my sometimes (mostly) furious thoughts...

I am very hopeful for the future of this program, but damn is it frustrating sometimes...

Can you really blame some people? 9/10 to OSU... 5/6 to MSU.... Both headed to BCS games (most likely)... It's easy to be furious when Michigan has the 'next year's the year' mentality in the midst of every disappointing season....

Sometimes it feels like a curse being a Michigan fan, but I wouldn't have it any other way.... I love this school, and I love this Football team....

EDIT: I also just realized how this post looks like a schizophrenic having a conversation with himself... Oh, well.

The Board has definitely declined sharply this year and it's great that Brian finally noticed. I just wish he was more active on the Board or, put differently, more visible. That said, I may be on his kill list - if so, it was nice knowing you all!

It is true that a few longtime MGoBloggers have been removed for things posted in open threads and postgame threads throughout this season and we can only get to a fraction of what probably should go. If there is going to be a purge of gratuitous negativity and general "concern trolling", if you will, now is probably a good time to do it.

I always support the current coach 100 percent. I think a coach and his staff should be given 5 years before a purge is made. RR didn't get his 5 years. I'm not sure if he would have turned our defense around to win more than 8 games? I guess we will never know. I was not happy with the play calling this year but I was not happy with the defense as well. We just seem to have a middling B1G team right now but that could change when Hoke's good freshman and sophomore classes become juniors and seniors. So my attitude with Hoke is one of waiting and seeing even though I was not thrilled with this season.

I can only speak for how I work around here, but the removal of the moderation system increased the reliance on reporting and simply happening upon such people in a sea of comments. Many do get removed, some get missed, others create new accounts because they either feel that they were unfairly banned or that it is their mission to troll the boards. If part of the intent here is to do a dump of such people, I am in favor of it and will assist.

We do, and for some of them, it gets to a point where they are so recognizable or they learn how to dance on the line, if you will, that those people get the "wait and see" approach. Again, I can only speak for myself, but I do keep lists of users and previous suspected / known accounts so repeated trolling can be fished out or at least mitigated.

The only time I get really pissy is on the liveblog if the game is going poorly.  I vent and I'm fine in an hour.  I am a passionate M fan and don't apologize for that.  I get pissed at playcalling sometimes but don't attack players or other posters, unless they're total douches and need it.

If I DID get banned though, I wouldn't take the cowardly route and create another account.  I'd respect the blog's right to police and ban.  Then I would probably e-mail Brian (staff), apologize, and ask for a six-month ban (like a reduced sentence) and a second chance (probation).  Such a poster would be more likely to fly straight then, as opposed to one who creates account #2 (3, 4, 5...) in total disregard of Brian's right to manage his own blog.

The responses by some of these grown men to Brian are why I have a self-imposed facebook and twitter ban on myself after the age of 25. It makes you look like an idiot if you are an adult (BONUS IF YOU HAVE A PICTURE WITH YOUR CHILDREN!) making middle school-type comments to Brian and/or anything else out there. I've lost respect for so many grown men just by seeing their social media posts.

This morning, I may not have been necessarily behind Brian 100% on this one. I was close, but not quite there yet.

But after our final possession in the first quarter, the classic Lloydball "play for the whistle" routine where getting a first down when you're not even trying doesn't even merit at least a shot at an armpunt... Where going for the fucking jugular gets set aside in favor of going for the blue tupperware of oranges and water bottles waiting at the end of the tunnel... I got it. I've crossed the rubicon into full-on Brian mode.

And seeing how this place has evolved into mlive and "I'm a real fan and you're not," "I got to stand the whole game," "Special K beatz are the illest," etc., I feel his frustration.

I'm in on the ennui. Full-on embrace. Get up in here, Henri.
