If you were there, how about that atmosphere?
Holy shit. That was probably the most consistently loud I've ever heard Michigan Stadium for a game. I think Under the Lights II had some louder moments when ND was on offense, but man. That was incredible.
The best part was that I was able to stand for the ENTIRE GAME and no one told me to sit down! The days where Michigan fans are quiet are gone, and I love it.

Both UTL games were louder IMO, but this one was up there.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:38 PM ^
Shout! takes a little part of my soul every time Special K plays it. And gotta love playing random hip hop beats at full volume while the MMB is valiantly trying to play The Victors.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:19 PM ^
the OSU marching band every time they started one of their numbers. Oh, and 'Shout' did that as well the one time!
November 30th, 2013 at 6:39 PM ^
I too loved that everyone was standing the whole game and i didnt get yelled at to sit down all day. Also, the buckeye fans, at least the ones i personally talked to, were very nice and level headed, even pretty generous. Surprisingly, they all seemed to think this game would actually be a close one, whereas most of us fans thought it would be a murder. I just wish that there was more room per seat and i didnt have frankenstein standing in front of me. Overall though, i enjoyed myself thoroughly.

It was an incredible atmosphere. During the on-field scuffle my section just erupted. It turned into Buckeye fans and our fans getting into it verbally. Lets hope this is what we'll consistently in 2014 (I do not believe this will be the case obviously given our home schedule).
November 30th, 2013 at 6:42 PM ^
...then came the worst part.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:43 PM ^
felt like when Gallon started the game with an 80+ yard catch the crowd got really into it. Than there was the fight and it was utter bedlam for the next 3 quarters. I definitely think "consistently " is the perfect word because the crowd really was into it for the whole game. I thought it was way louder than UTL 2 but not as loud as the 4th quarter of UTL1. From the time I was in the stadium till the second OSU intercepted the 2 point conversion it may have been thebest atmosphere i've seen at the big house.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:44 PM ^
I was also able to stand all game. It was as fun a Michigan game I can remember attending, just with a crappy ending.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:46 PM ^
section 15 row stood the whole game
November 30th, 2013 at 6:47 PM ^
One of the best I've been to. It definitely rivals UTL I and UTL II. I liked how the crowd was pumped up from beginning to end.
November 30th, 2013 at 10:44 PM ^
but if true, thats extremely impressive that the crowd was up like that for a noon game. UTL and UTL II had the benefit of being a night game. In a competely immeasurable ranking, that might make this the best Michigan crowd in recent memory
November 30th, 2013 at 6:47 PM ^
to sit by some lady wearing brown and pink while people in front of me were standing. But I think the people that sold their tickets were very nearly addition by subtraction. If you scaled the stadium down to 80k the fans would be awesome.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:51 PM ^
The crowd was totally silent during the entire third quarter. It was also very quiet every time we gave up the lead. It waited for the team to have a good offensive play before it would get back to cheering. Odd.
The piped in music was a blessing. It drowned out Ohio's band, who played very loudly whenever the crowd got quiet, which was often in the third quarter. They also played during a play in the 4th, which is a no no.
I only heard one Fire Borges, but that guy later praised a Butt touchdown as a great play call, despite the targeted player being double covered.
There was a lot of love. Not a season ticket holder, so I didn't know the people around me. But they were all very pleasant, moreso than I've ever experienced. A stranger felt happy enough and comfortable enough to just repeatedly pound my shoulders when we did good things. Not one person asked me to sit down, and I'm 6'5" 300 and never sit.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:57 PM ^
They also sometimes kept playing right into Michigan's snap count, which I found irritating.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:16 PM ^
They're all brass, so they're naturally louder, and they play during just about every stoppage. Always have, always will.
December 1st, 2013 at 12:00 PM ^
I always wondered why their band always sounded louder. It's always been like that.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:13 PM ^
You are a large human
November 30th, 2013 at 10:20 PM ^
Perhaps being 6'5" and 300lbs had something to do with no one asking you to sit.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:53 PM ^
I was there and it was okay. I actually had to laugh because the Ohio fan behind me was pretty pissed at the Ohio D. Heard a lot of comments like: "Gardner completes that pass over the middle EVERYTIME!" If Michigan had won I would say yes. But since they lost UTL I is still the best.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:53 PM ^
Well, about 1/3 of the stadium was Buckeye fans, so I expected it to be louder than normal.
Also, any students who did not show, how about a big middle finger to you. You guys are sorry excuses for fans.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
So fuck you too, my dear pessimistic friend.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:01 PM ^
Keep up the good work, except at the wave....
December 1st, 2013 at 7:53 AM ^
I kept thinking about the wave and then I realized that we all needed to be. Into the game and not doing the wave.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:00 PM ^
As a student, I feel that it's worth mentioning that for many students, including myself, the close proximity to the Thanksgiving holiday led to use having to choose between going to the game or spending time with our families.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:06 PM ^
Easy choice.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:10 PM ^
The game
November 30th, 2013 at 7:01 PM ^
Maybe they're students, not fans?
November 30th, 2013 at 7:04 PM ^
Fractions or eyesight. There was no where close to a third. Red stands out bit it wasn't close to a third.
The students were awesome and probably late due to cavity searches.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:04 PM ^
The stadium was not 1/3 Buckeye fans. Not even close.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:16 PM ^
I would have a gnarly time punching that face.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
Gnarly Troll he is. Go ahead, one free punch.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
Fuck you on behalf of our great students - you ass
November 30th, 2013 at 8:16 PM ^
Wrong on both counts. You suck at this. Your gnarly face is attributed to having your head so far up your ass.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:40 PM ^
having The Game scheduled over Thanksgiving is BS.
November 30th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
TROLL.
November 30th, 2013 at 9:07 PM ^
Middle finger for the student fans? I didn't see a lot of red in the student section, how about all the old fans that gave up on their team and sold their tickets? How about a middle finger for them? Really the amount of hate leveled against the students is outrageous considering they all shortened their thanksgiving breaks to come back.
Come back after you finish yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off your lawn.
December 1st, 2013 at 9:31 AM ^
"I Have a Gnarly Face";
We're you there? Last week you wrote that you were not going to the game and that you pitied anyone who was going.
What happened? We're you there, or not?
December 1st, 2013 at 11:56 AM ^
C'mon man.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:56 PM ^
Stood the entire game for every SINGLE play in Section 23 which has got to be a first for me although i did not sit there for either Notre Dame night game.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:57 PM ^
I can't beleive I got 2 tickets for 80 bucks..atmosphere was awesome
November 30th, 2013 at 7:04 PM ^
got a pair for twenty about 25 minutes before kickoff
November 30th, 2013 at 7:29 PM ^
thats awesome..well worth it. This was my first ever UM-OSU game, I usually can't afford the game so I decided to go just to experience one. God I wish we got that 2 pt conversion, I would be telling my grandkids abou that one.
November 30th, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
I'm a student and the student section is always loud. The few times I've ventured outside to sit somewhere else it's like a graveyard by comparison and I feel weird about cheering loudly, which... shouldn't be the case.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:02 PM ^
Stood for the entire game in section 20. That part was great. The crowd being 1/3 red was very disappointing. The crowd could have been a big factor today, but wasn't.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:03 PM ^
I lost my voice when Funchess hurdled that dude. stood every play and tried shout anyway.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:41 PM ^
So did I when he alligator armed the bomb. I dont know why we dont go deep more often. SERIOUSLY.
November 30th, 2013 at 10:06 PM ^
Was epic.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:05 PM ^
I couldn't be there so that's great to hear.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:07 PM ^
Section 12 row 52 for 35 years - took over my dad's tickets. Never sat down. Loved it. Any recruit that doesn't want to come play there after that visit is crazy.
November 30th, 2013 at 7:11 PM ^
We got tickets from Stubhub since they were reasonably prices and to prevent OSU fans from going. Not quite the atmosphere as either UTLs, but MUCH better then I'd expected. I was never asked to sit down, the fans were respectful and engaged the entire game. I really thought I'd leave this game embarrassed and ashamed of our fanbase. It couldn't have been further from the truth! And what about those True Freshman RBs?
