Thursday Night NCAA Football Open Thread

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

Well, hopefully everyone's Turkey Day (or Thursday or what have you) has been going well.

There are indeed two college football games on tonight.

On Fox Sports 1 at 7:30 PM, Texas Tech plays Texas in some Big 12 action.

On ESPN also at 7:30 PM, some SEC action as Mississippi State plays Ole Miss.

I think Case McCoy might have quadrupled his passing yardage in the game to date just on this drive. Texas had barely 40 yards of offense before that little drive. It is also sort if interesting that Texas Tech has realizable rushing yardage already, but then Texas doesn't have a great rushing defense.

If Mullen loses he will be the 9th coach in a row to coach for at least 5 seasons at Miss State to have a losing season for year 5.

Long story short, you don't necessarily get fired from Mississippi State for losing.

My favorite Mississippi State coach was Sylvester Croom, the guy before Mullen.

I didn't know that rule that you can't have two players in the same position with the same number. I knew you couldn't have two on the field at the same time but I just never saw that come up before. It makes sense though.

I am part of the problem since I am watching (flipping between this and the Ravens-Steelers game for fantasy interests) but I kind of hate that these games exist on Thanksgiving. These kids should be with their families -- not prepping for a football game.
