Support your team!

Submitted by B1G_Fan on

We've all been down this year. Both our team and our fans have been beaten up this year but, it's time for all the doubters to get on board and support this football team. It's not about Borges, Hoke, Gardner or the O line, it's about the team. These kids are talented, they're trying and they are good enough to win this game. We need your help, go to the game, be loud and be positive. At the end of the day at least you'll know you as a fan gave it everything you had to support The University of Michigan Wolverines Football team.

 More so than ever!

They can throw out all those great backs and great quarterbacks and great defensive players throughout the country and in this conference. But there’s going to be one team that is going play solely as a team. No man is more important than the team. No coach is more important than the team. THE TEAM! THE TEAM! THE TEAM! And if we think that way, all of us, everything that you do you take into consideration what effect does it have on my team? Because you can go into professional football, you can go anywhere you want to play after you leave here, you will never play for a team again. You’ll play for a contract. You’ll play for this. You’ll play for that. You’ll play for everything except the team. And think what a great thing it is to be a part of something that is THE TEAM! We’re going to win it. We’re going to win the championship again because we’re going to play as a team better than anyone else in the conference. We’re going to play together as a TEAM. We’re going to believe in each other. We’re not going to criticize each other. We’re not going to talk about each other. We’re going to encourage each other! And when we play as a team, when the old season is over, you and I know it’s going to be Michigan again. Michigan!

I like this thread.  Better this than all of the "Fire Borges, he is fat.  Fire Hoke, he is fat.  Fire Funk, he is not fat, but he sucks" threads.

Also, you know what I find silly?  People who click on a thread, claim to not read it, but then post a comment.  If you don't like the thread, don't click on it.  If you accidentally click because the title "Support your team!" isn't obvious to you, then move on to another thread.  Why the need to comment?

If you cant get up for this game I question your Fanhood! Rah rah bullshit?! Dude this is the game! it's anything goes. How many of John coopers teams where supposed to blow us out and left AA with a L? We're not a bad team, we have talented players and we can win this game. People get snarky when Michigan fans bring up their past but, if we as Michigan fans have learned anything, it's that anything is possible on Saturday.  Sometimes it's bad #thehorror or Colorado's hail mary but sometimes it's glorious 2008 Capital one bowl, Tim biakabutuka running for 313 yards on the PREVIOUSLY unbeaten buckeyes or even the Game in 1969. Anything is possible especially this Saturday!

Why is it going to be a beating? Because you say so? because we haven't played great football up till now? The last time OSU came to Ann arbor they where a beaten up team. Their offense struggled all year but they played their best game VS. us and at least made it close. Our team is capable of playing great offense and great defense we've seen it at times this year. I exspect the best to be played this Saturday against OSU. #Goblue

Why do you expect the best to be played this saturday?  Because you say so?  Because OSU has looked so vulnerable?

Yea, crazier things have happened, but it would be pretty foolish to expect anything other than a comfortable OSU victory this weekend

Weren't they coming off a three peat that year or they went on to threepeat that year? They probably would have beaten a bunch of FBS teams that year -- we just got unlucky. Not to mention Lloyd teams could never defend against spread teams (Syracuse with McNabb, Oregon in 2003 or 2004, App. St., Oregon the following week).

My point is that the only people that thought Appy State would win that game were the coaches and players on Appy State. Had they behaved in a manner that was in accordance with everyones beliefs, they would have showed up, got demolished, collected their check, and went home. The fact that they won x number of national championships in IAA should not have mattered against the #1 or #2 team in the country.

But do you know the difference between those Michigan teams and seasons and this one?  We had All-Americans at skill positions and future NFLers on the lines.  Biakabutuka was a first round NFL pick.  We don't have any of those running out of the tunnel Saturday.  Oh, we also had Woodson on that 1995 team.  And Amani Toomer.  And Mercury Hayes.

In 1993 you had Wheatley and Todd Collins.  I'm sorry, the difference in talent is wide.  Those teams would smash this team by 20-30 points.  These are kids and anything is possible, but those teams that you reference for your hope had a lot going for them heading into The Game.

Biakabutuka made his draft status off the OSU game. I don't argue that most top big ten teams from the 90ies would slaughter any team in the big ten now. I've Watched OSU this year several times and they do look vulnerable. Their defense is vulnerable and their offense stalls. Most of the early teams they played they blew them out in the first quarter and let them come back later.

I watched the first 7 games they played and they looked very beatbale

But Nebraska's and Northwestern's D were both extremely vulnerable and they held us to 13 and 9 points in regulation. Narduzzi has owned Borges and gave the rest of the conference the blueprint on how to shut down this offense. Yes, we scored some points last week but didn't have one long sustained drive that put points on the board.
If a close game allows people to keep their jobs I would rather lose big so I don't have to put up with another season of primarily unwatchable, predictable, boring football.

the Wolverines. More than anything right now Bo's words are what glue the team together. When, and I believe when not if, this program turns the corner players will point to this season's lessons learned under this staff as they fought through adversity.

The rah rah shit is getting old, I love it, just hope it stays contained in a certain (limited) number of threads. I wish the mods would just pin a thread to the top for all of the rah rah stuff.

However, the Borges glum and new OC threads are a MILLION times worse. So if this is what it takes to keep those threads from taking over the board (and the appreciation threads)...I'll take it.

for Garner to get up off his back and start to perform like he can. I watched him in Tampa and he is a quality QB.  He can play well and carry the team. Throw the ball early.  Don't think too much or hold onto the ball.   The play will be there.  Step up into the pocket. Don't step back.   The offensive line is better than it was a few months ago.  The pocket will be there. You can do it.    As to the offensive line,  at this point in time, you are not a freshman, you are a sophomore.  You are no longer a red-shirt freshman,  you are juniors.  It is time to play.  Quit thinking about what you need to do and where you need to go for each play.  Just do it.  Step up and play the game.    As to the defense,  we need four turnovers to stand a chance to win the game.  Go get it.  As to the coaches,  I do not want to hear we failed to execute.  I want to hear from them, it is time to execute.   Beat Ohio State (no it is not Ohio)   Go Blue   Rah.  Rah.

Go Blue. We have a lot of recruits and commits coming to this game. Time to support the kids. Time to support the seniors. It's our last chance to cheer for them this year at the Big House. Save all of the fire this coach or that coach until next week. We all count down the days for this game. It's finally here. Go Blue.

How about, as a compromise, no one makes any threads whatsoever unless they are giving us new information (like info from a presser, recruiting news, etc.) or a completely new and dfferent topic of discussion?

Because in all honestly., no one needs to know or cares about each person's individual rah rah thoughts or offensive co-ordinator thoughts or coaching thoughts. So please stop. None of you are special

You have completely missed the point. If you dont care about it then dont come here and post. It's not about one fan, one player or one coach. If the Big house is a sea of red full of boos do you think we have a chance. The fan base has to get up and cheer this team

The students or season ticket holders know who they are selling their tickets too. I already know one individual who bought student tickets and know a few others drooling over cheap tickets to the game Saturday that just came available.

Students sell them on a Michigan Facebook marketplace, in general. I'm not sure what to expect this year but I can't think of one time the enemy has had a significant contingent of fans in the SS. The rest of the stadium, however... well, we'll see.

We have become Miami Hurricane football.  Nobody shows up unless the team is good. I personally will never miss a Michigan game if we're 0-12 or 12-0.  Apparently, some are not even fan enough to go to the Michigan Ohio game.

I have been critical of the coaching and we will see how it all shakes out in the next year or so, but I will support The Team come Saturday, win or lose.  Go Blue!

Recall Frank Clark going unblocked into Braxton Miller last year?

Well, I would like to see that again, Twice.  Once with Clark 2.0, and Jake Ryan going full horizontal on him.

And Kenny Demens isn't around to blow up anyone on 4th & 2, but lets see Desmond Morgan mind-morph into #44 Chris Borland.  He punished Carlos Hyde on play after play when Wisky played the BuckNutz.

I would like to see Chesson blow thru the safeties and have 5 steps of green turf in front of him, whilst Gardner lands the rock step for step in his hip pocket.

I would like to see Funchess crackback block so hard he loses his mouthguard again.

I would like to see Green drag not One but Two defenseless backs down the field for an extended gain.

And whatever other magic swirls around the bowl at Stadium and Main.
