Look, I get it. You're pissed. I'm pissed EVERYONE is pissed. Nothing is going well. Everything is horrible. We get it. But people need to calm the eff down.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Personal attacks on other posters will be treated with extreme prejudice. This goes for long-time posters as well. Call another poster something that a 3rd grader couldn't get away with, and you're going to the penalty box.
  • Unnecccesarily personal attacks on players/coaches will be treated likewise. "Devin has really struggled this month" is fine. "Devin sucks" is not. Saying "fuck [Player/Coach X]" will result in an instaban.
  • Posts that just whine will be deleted (see: "This offense is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!11").
  • Posts that just offer an opinion on long-standing debates will be deleted (see: "I think Michigan should fire Al Borges")
  • Repeat offenders will be Bolivianed through bowl season.

None of these are new rules. But consider yourselves warned: Captain Insane-o shows no mercy. Tempt the ban-hammer at your own peril.

In short: KNOCK IT OFF, or be cast upon by the wrath of the mods. We are under martial law. There is no presumption of innocence, no due process, and no First Amendment. The use of unneccesary force in the apprehension of trolls has been authorized.

BISB notes language that a third grader couldn't get away with. Most elementary school teachers will send a 3rd grader to the office for using language that the teacher doesn't understand. "Sycophant" therefore may be bannable for posters in much of the US, including Columbus.

"You lack even a rudimentary understanding of both zone blocking and the anatomical location of your own body parts beneath the diaphragm," I believe, is and should be bannable, absent an "urbane lexicon exception".

This is a clear violation of rule #3. Is anything more debatable than what is or is not the best post in forever. Why is it still here?

Why don't you simply state the actual rules of commenting?

1. MGOBLOG is a place of dreams and fantasy, reality is frowned upon.

2. I spend my life on a message board and must be validated.

3. Everything about UM is the best. This includes the coaching.

4. Each year we are just a "few plays" from an undefeated season.

5. Etc, etc, etc.

The only one on this site who truly matters is Brian. Sadly, if any of these rules applied to him, the entire blog would be modded out of existence.

This has been a brutal season for the mods - the mod action sticky is up to 3 pages again already. It had 47 new posts since I last posted in it on Thursday. I feel bad for you guys and thank you for all of your hard work. BiSB, LSA2k, & JustinGoBlue if we ever meet in person first round is on me. I fully support super harsh modding right now.

We may all ebb and flow with the success of a particular game (or even a single possession), but that justs shows our own little bouts of insanity.

After the game Saturday, I had to go to the store here in Alabama and I *wasn't* in a good place.  As I was going into the store, trying to avoid eye contact with anyone and wearing, of course, a Michigan sweatshirt, a girl said to me, "I like your shirt!".  Perhaps she was from back home or otherwise a Michigan fan, and she probably didn't know of my temporary, self-imposed insanity, but it did put things into perspective.  This is one season, not a lifetime.  Go Blue..

I swear, this place of normally sane, intelligent, well-spoken people loses double-digit IQ points with every loss and every run into the line for a loss.

I understand criticizing the coaches or noting a poor performance, but cumon people. A little perspective please.

I also feel like like all the negativity and personal attacks can't look good to any recruits that peruse the internet, and we know they do. Ya ya I know, say what you want about our actual performance having its impact on recruits but everyone running around slamming the program like we are heading to an endless abyss of despair certainly doesn't help at all either. Where you go, go blue!
