Sunday Sports Snowflake Stuff

Submitted by MaizeMN on

Alright, WE lost a football game yesterday. There have been threads o'plenty blasting every aspect of that performance. I'm only surprised we haven't seen a Fire Funchess thread (he dropped multiple passes that may have had an huge impact on the outcome) Let's put things in perspective: RR:15-22 :: BH:26-11. Even if WE lose the next two "guaranteed opportunities" this year, Hoke's win Pct. will be .667. That aside, the women's soccer team has advanced to the E8 with their third consecutive shutout, the MBB team is playing in the championship game in PR at 6:30 on ESPN2 and the hockey team is ranked #5 and just blanked Niagra, 6-0. Water is wet. GO BLUE!

Frankly, the success of the women's soccer team does not make me feel better about our pathetic offense, incompetent coaching, or the impending doom on Saturday.

I don't think it is that so much as a general issue with turnovers - going into today, the Lions net margin was -2, I believe, which would be good for 11th or 12th in the NFC alone, I think. The Lions outperformed the Cowboys on most other metrics in a turnover-heavy game and they are doing this against Tampa right now. Four turnovers will make an otherwise comfortable game a nailbiter or even a loss, as we well know around here.

Sucks that Calvin fumbled the catch but it's not a big issue.  They're better than this and the schedule is still pretty favorable.  Turnovers are a fluky business as well.

Not sure what I have done to sustain the wrath of the football Gods. Between UM and the Lions, I'm suffering. I pay my taxes, served my nation, volunteer my time, help my neighbors.....and I'm rewarded with this crap of a season.

...Thank you for your service, volunteerism and timely tax payments. Second, I suspect your mojo is being jammed by having a username that is the same as the Texas mascot. Your fate is inexorably linked to Mack Brown's. I beseech you, change that identity, before it is too late.

It's OK guys.  Detroit spots and UM are not doing so well but since Tom Brady went to Michigan we can root for New England.  Right? Right??????

Alright, I'm just going to go lie down.

There have been pretty much 2 types of threads the past 24+ hours: Pointless whining snowflakes I don't care to hear, and pointless whining about everyone's whining with a coating of irrational optimism on top. This board is really nauseating me.

1.  I and everyone one else will read what we damn well please, and it's not a percieved snowflake thread, it is one as your own freaking title implies.

2. I've contributed more to this board than you have and for a lot longer to boot.  As long as I'm not attacking someone (as you so maturely have decided to do), I'll post what I please, when I please.

3. A little too redundant for me to bother with a rebuttal.

4.  Again with the immature redundacy.

Extra Credit: Try growing up and you using big boy words when you are talking to someone who you don't agree with rather than puffing out your metaphorical chest and cussing them out.  Trying to intimidate someone through the internet may work with the middle schoolers you like to cyberbully on other sites but has little effect here.

I'm cognizant of your egocentric opinion relative to contributions, length of MGoMembership and your overall malaise. Perhaps I should have phrased my retort differently, more tastefully, or with more restraint. I'm deeply apologetic that you feel cyber-bullied. I assure you that I would never harass anyone matriculating from a centrally located (or any other) school. I also apologize for my excessive use of profanity. What I meant to say was, please go fornicate yourself, metaphorically.

Classy (not meant sarcastically). Anyways, it would still behoove you to not take a comment (especially one not directly intended for you) on a thread you created as a personal attack. Say what you will about my notion that my tenure here means something, but it most certainly reflects that I, along with other long term mgobloggers know what it was like before this board was flooded by posters who seems to seek out conflict or get up in arms when their post isn't met with unconditional support. Not saying you yourself are part of the problem, but your reaction to my comment was far from charming. The final part of my last post still holds true: Grow up.

"Charles' burst was back. On an eye-opening 46-yard run in the fourth quarter, he completely catfished Manti Te'o in the hole and took off. It was as if Te'o didn't even exist."

This is in the Yahoo Fantasy Football player updates for JCharles.  Pretty hilarious.
