Michigan - Iowa Game Thread

I've never done one of these before but it's about 20 minutes to kick-off and none of the usual suspects have stepped forward so I guess it's time.  I'm feeling good about this game and think Michigan wins 24-14.  Meanwhile, over on ESPN Sparty takes on the Cats at noon so we've got plenty of Michigan (the state of)  football to watch early.

why does # 41 continue to trot out there for kick coverages and returns every week?  i see this walkon scrub pulling a swayze every single snap yet hes still out there.  5'7" 175lb rudy should not be constant disappearing act and still get reps.  i dont care how "hard" he works and how much "effort" he puts forth during the week to "earn" a spot on hokes special team units, the dude gets embarassed like a child every snap, forget about actually making plays.  not a perfect example or microcosm of why UM looks like they do on a weekly basis, but close enough.  and whoever mentioned courtney avery in earlier post - dont worry, hes only got 1-2 games left....real nice kid who reps UM well and tried hard and puts out effort, but unfortunately hes just not very athletic and not impact player.  hopefully some of these young hyped recruits can play fast and violent and smart next year ...safety is supposed to be an impact position where elite athletes make game changings plays, not a stop gap average joe you just hope does not miss his assignment.  hopeful for future of UM program but elite athletes who consistently show up and ball out win conference and national titles and this team is at least year or two away from approaching that type of roster.  in the interim, please play either starters or athletic backups on ST....if its truly equal 1/3 of the game as hoke insists, then walkons with zero tackles and slow unathletic backup RBs should never touch the field

But, I did like the collison with Green and whoever that was...Green did not move an inchi back.  I think it was Hitchins...they have a nice liitle back and forth going on a few collisions now.  Green is holding own against a guy much older...as he should based on his ability, but good to see nonetheless.
