Basketball: FSU thread

Submitted by tasnyder01 on

Michigan goes against FSU in the best remaining game in the winners bracket.  Thoughts etc. go here.

Also, I'm not showing a stream on firstrowsports. Anyone know of any streams?

Wow, the only thing more pathetic than our half court offense this game is this thread. You guys are some seriously depressed pessimistic people.

It's like people don't remember last year when we were stumbling badly at the end of the year, almost lost to a terrible penn state team and bowed out easily in the big ten tourny.  Everyone on this blog said we would go out early in the tourney, I don't think that happened.  Two games doesn't define a season or a team, especially a team this young without a proven leader yet.

It's called realistic. This Michigan team was majorly overrated. JB might get it going later in the year, but right now I'd say we're probably the 4th best team in the B1G. Somewhere around there. And it's a huge drop from MSU to everyone else in the B1G.

Agree.  I hate to pile on as there's enough people here calling him out but it's the same player as last year with a bit better shot (debateable, of course).  There's things he brings like getting Boards that others can't at times but he cannot create for shit; there's times he's a wasted player out there, as bad as that sounds.

The only way this team has a chance of being anything better than average is if LeVert takes over as the star of the team. He can feed Mitch, he can create for himself, and he can collapse a defense to get others going. You can't lean too heavily on Stauskas, because a taller/athletic defender can lock him up and turn him into a kick-out shooter.

Unless Mitch starts bringing the ball up the floor, you're not going to be able to run the offense through him. Nobody on this team can make a post feed. The high screen and roll with Mitch and LeVert is what the offense needs to be built around. That leaves GR3 free to play along the baseline for backdoors, corner threes, and offensive rebounds. It leaves Stauskas free for kick outs when help comes. We can't continue to pass the ball around the arc until someone jacks a three. Mitch isn't really a post up and back down type player. He's a pick and roll big man that can face up from the short corner from time to time. You can't just come down, feed Mitch on the block, and say go to work.

6 point swing at the end of the half there, Walton misses a wide open 3 and their guy hits a contested one from 25 feet. They're getting the breaks right now.

Florida State is chucking up bullshit left and right.  This will not continue.  I'm not saying Michigan is going to win but FSU will not keep making these ridiculous 27-footers.

Does GR3 still play on Michigan?  He is non-existant against any team that has a pulse..  I guess i should of expected it.. Same way as last year, no improvement..  Can't believe people talked about him leaving for the draft

So fucking reliant on 3-pointers. We have guys with the ability to go to the hoop, yet we never do. Fucking brilliant.

I think I'm done with the message board until such time as moderating returns. I'll read The original message, but the comments man...the comments have to go.
