Hello: Taylor Swearingen (sb)

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

The third softball recruit in this class is 5' 11" Taylor Swearingen.  Taylor Hails from Anaheim, CA where she plays for Canyon High School.

Taylor plays 3rd base but can also play 1st base.  She has played some outfield too.  She bats right and throws right.  She led her team to the Division 1 California State Finals last year.  In her three year HS varisty career, Taylor hit .361 and had 75 RBis.  She scored 63 runs while hitting 22 doubles and 3 triples.

Her summer team is Victory USA 16U where she played 3B and SS.

Weclome to the family Taylor.  We hope you enjoy your stay here in lovely Ann Arbor.  We hope your softball career is fullfilling and your studies even moreso.  The only advice I can give you is to stop by Meijer and buy a warm winter coat and snow boots.

Maybe this is an archaic attitude -- gender equality and all that -- but I was hoping this would be a recruit for a men's team so I could feel better making the obvious Deadwood joke (Wu).

Well at the Garman Classic in Fullerton, and this year will have an extended trip going to a second tourney as well as playing at UCLA. Tons of talent in So Cal, and hopefully get some more exposure this year. MGoSoftball? Will you be coming west for any games this year?

There may be a mistake in the 2014 MIchigan softball schedule posted on MoGoBlue.com.  Here is a link to the schedule for the 2014 Judi Garman Classic posted on the Cal State Fullerton web site.  http://www.fullertontitans.com/sports/w-softbl/2013-14/files/2014_JG_To…; Instead of playing Long Beach State on Thursday as per the Michigan schedule, the JG schedule shows Michigan playing Arizona State.  Instead of playing San Jose State on Friday as per the Michigan schedule, the JG schedule shows Michigan playing Arizona.  If that is correct, what a schedule for Michigan.  Arizona State and Washington on Thursday,  Houston and Arizona on Friday and Texas on Saturday.  What a tournament--5 of the 8 WCWS participants plus Wisconsin, Arizona, Houston and the 4 Cal State schools.   We'll know a lot about Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin after this tournament.
