Little brothers ruin everything

Submitted by NickUmich on
I just had to rant about how our annoying Little Brother couldn't have a decent enough record to make sure the game this weekend is on ESPN/ESPN2/ABC. I think my sentiments about potentially not being able to watch the game can be well represented by this kid: Thank you Little Brother for relegating the game to the Big Ten Network that a lot of us don't have access to. This is just like the time when I had to go to my little brother's 3rd grade soccer game instead of watching the first half of The Game in 1999. Though my brother's 3rd grade soccer team had better playmakers than this year's Sparty squad. I guess the silver lining is that Pam Ward won't be doing commentary. And I will probably figure out a way to watch the game in the end. Sorry for the rant. I just hate when a little brother brings you down. But while I have your attention. Let me open it up for discussion. What's the biggest Michigan game you guys have been forced to miss watching/attending in your lives? And who do you blame for making you miss it? (Please call people out) Mine would have to be the Michigan/Colorado "Hail Mary" game cause frickin ABC wouldn't change over from some other obscure regional Pac-10 game. Instead I had to sit there watching the ticker change from us having a two score lead...to a one score lead with 6 seconds or whatever it was left...to the heartbreaking final score. I guess I should be happy I didn't have to watch the actual play in real time. But my 12 year-old psyche was crushed as our national title hopes went out the window. F*CK YOU Kordell Stewart! That is all.

that it is to UM's benefit that Little Brother's record is 1-2. If they had been 3-0 going into Wisconsin, it is likely that the game would've been an 8 p.m. game on either ESPN or ABC. With freshman all over the place and EL being a town of drunks, for drunks-it would've made the atmosphere even crazier than it will be. I certainly want Tate and Denard (and Roh and etc.) to not walk into a beer garden to play their first road game. On another topic, is anyone upset that this game nationally is given to Little Bro already? It sort of pisses me off because their preppy ass QB is even more unproven that ours. Sorry to go off on a rant but it is pissing me off.

I don't know if it's a bad thing, but I had to miss THE HORROR because of work. It wasn't until halfway through my shift that my manager came back to me and said that Michigan had lost to App State that I was in total shock and could not believe it until I saw it later that night. Fuckin work...

I was 12 years old...my dad got so frustrated with Bo seemingly running out the clock to preserve the tie, that he made us walk out of the stadium with about 2 minutes left to play.

I was in Spain at the time, was only able to find an internet cafe to get the results. The Horror- I was on a plane to Chicago, and heard about it afterward. Figuring we would blow them out, I was not totally unhappy to miss the game, and after finding out that it had turned into THE HORROR, I was VERY happy to miss the game- it was a lot easier to take that way.

I was 14 and had just started my first job (paper route doesn't count). I got the whole responsibility, sacrifice, blah blah speech from the parents (who obviously got to watch the game) on my way to work. I missed Tim "White Lightning" Dwight tear us a new one in the first half....and missed Griese lead us back. Eh well, we stayed perfect and I got over it.

that was my 21st birthday and i left before halftime to get my new driver's license showing i was old enough to booze. when i got back my roomates were laughing hysterically that i missed touchdown timmy's punt return TD to put the hawks up 21-7 at half. still a great birthday as it was homecoming at the university of northern iowa where i was at and i got to witness matt sherman choke it away at the end to big sam sword.

they discussed this on the scout board, and said that the game is on BTN because they have a contract where certain weeks, they get the first pick of games before ABC/ESPN, so they chose this one, prob to encourage more fans to get their providers to carry BTN
