Noon games open thread

Not the best slate of games, but you never know.

Minnesota-PSU might be decent.

Purdue goes for that coveted first victory against Iowa.

Auburn-Tennessee, FSU-Wake, Mizzou-Kentucky and Texas Tech-KSU are top 25 matchups on right now.

and made them winners, right?

If you are going to be so ignorant about college football you should not post on a board where it is discussed.

Ball State was far worse than anything RR took on. Like in EMU-bad.  If you followed MACtion you'd know this.

Is calling for veteran awareness. Using their huge profits for veterans grants and scholarships and funding and aiding wounded vets is very noble and well deserved and a great use of the schools and ncaa's not profit, non taxed status.

Oh? It's an awareness campaign and 10% of school proceeds on merchandise sales go to a charity while the athletic dept builds $15 million tennis complexes and tutoring centers and ADs have staffs of dozens with total staff salaries in the millions? Ok.

Of course it's basically another way to get you to part with your money.  But we have to acknowledge that 1) sports are very important to the average student's college experience and are important to university fundraising and 2) they are very, very costly to run.  Fans demand good results, and those usually mean expensive coaching staffs and facilities.  Paying tuition for all these guys isn't cheap either.

Most athletic departments actually lose money.  If they do make money, it gets flowed back into the athletic programs.  It's not like there are shareholders raking in dividends.

But invoking the flag and veterans to do so is shameful and embarrassing as a way to raise funds for athletics.

Theses schools get over $20,000,000 from the big ten network alone and they have to come up with desperate, shameful, gimmicks like this to get someone to buy a jersey so they can donate less than 10% of the cost to a cause they temporarily adopt.

But here I am bitching on a website instead of doing something useful, so, whatever...

I feel like their Off strengths match up with Michigan's Def strengths. I'm worried about two things. 1. It's in Iowa City and 2. C.J. Fedorowiscz(sp).

How's that for a subject line?

Anyway, Minny just picked up a 4th down on a pass as the RB, Cobb slid from the left ot the right to pick up someone rushing through a gap.  Glenn said that it took 2 years for Cobb to learn his protection responsibilities.

Update: Minnesota scores a TD on the drive to put it 17-7, 9 minutes left in the 2nd Q.

Just watched Minny give a blitz look and PSU audible a new play and then Minny drop out of the blitz look after the audible. Fake blitz or not, I wish we did that more often.
