Screws up in the redzone (usually on 4th down). Have to play from behind.
vs Auburn in 2010, vs USC in 2011 and vs Stanford in 2012, playing Stanford again.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
aka what happens when Oregon faces a real challenge.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:25 PM ^
I love this Baylor team. Fun to watch, aggressive on defense, attacking unpridictability on offense, crazy sideline energy. That is what I'd like to see here at UM.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:26 PM ^
A six minute drive and Oregon can do nothing, Hard to score on the sideline.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:28 PM ^
I was not even worried about them getting the 3-4 yards on 3rd down running that power play. Hopefully someday we will all feel that way.

Baylor has managed 229 yards on 48 plays, which is 4.77 yards per snap. Compared to other games, this is still Baylor working on impulse drive, but they seemed to be getting a rhythm going towards the end of the second quarter. You have to wonder what Oklahoma's hears in terms of a halftime speech - perhaps a reminder that time and space mean nothing in Waco.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:27 PM ^
That weird spot the refs gave back on Oregon's second drive really seems like a much bugger deal now.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:31 PM ^
But then ran into his own o-line.

Harbaugh went 4-8, 5-7, and 8-5 before finally busting out to 12-1 in year 4 and Stanford hasn't looked back. This might be apples to oranges, but there's hope that the manballyness will kick in soon
November 7th, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
So is Stanford - Oregon what future Michigan - Ohio State matchups are going to look like?
November 7th, 2013 at 9:39 PM ^
Borges is a West Coast Offense guy, so probably not exactly. This may be what Hoke wants, though.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:44 PM ^
November 7th, 2013 at 9:34 PM ^
And them beating USC was actually considered a bigger upset than us losing to App State? That changed quickly
November 7th, 2013 at 9:37 PM ^
the main issue is Harbaugh>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Borges.
If we can somehow overcome that then there is always a chance.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:43 PM ^
November 7th, 2013 at 9:43 PM ^
Why are you comparing a head coach with an OC? It's not clear how much freedom Borges actually has to design the offense.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:34 PM ^
Manball vs. Spread 'n Shread.
God I love CFB. Where else can you get matchups of completely different playing styles like this?
Not in the group-think NFL.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:36 PM ^
My gut wants to root for Stanford but Oregon winning helps keeps Ohio down in the rankings so I'm forced into Duck fandom.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
Yes. Go ducks go. Go Baylor as well
November 7th, 2013 at 9:46 PM ^
We still have a chance to take care of Ohio. Laugh all you want - Hoke is 19-0 at home.
Anyhow, if they play any of the three teams above them, they'll get popped.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:37 PM ^
This game illustrates why I hate the PAC-12 with an irrational passion. Oregon and Stanford (and usually USC) are amazing every year but one of them has to lose to the other one and the winner always loses to some horrible team, thereby taking them both out of the title hunt. I would love to see either of these teams play Alabama but we will never see that.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:37 PM ^
why..... so poor on the road?
question has to be answered.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
Oregon DB with A Jourdan Lewis type coverage right there. Hogan had to make a perfect throw right tthere.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:40 PM ^
Oregon in trouble. Whole vibe of the game leans Stanford right now. Obvs that Oregon can score quickly, but not getting an early TD lead was a huge deal for the Ducks.

The Cardinal won 17-14 last year AT Autzen.

Home cooking on that call. Shoulda been no call.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
Shoulda just been a holding. Obvious tug on the jersey.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:45 PM ^
Which tug? The one by the DB or the WR?
November 7th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
There was equal pushing by both sides. But there was an obvious pull of the jersey by the defender, which will draw a flag every time. I think it should have been a holding, but they called a PI. He reached out and grabbed the inside of the receivers jersey.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
That was a mac truck sized hole. I remember those days at Michigan... *sigh*

The man was an assistant on a team that won the national title. Jeebus, you people are ridiculous.
November 7th, 2013 at 10:31 PM ^
"Jeebus, you people are ridiculous". Careful, you're (Manball) arrogance is showing (again). If the posters are truly beneath you--as you state--why engage them? Find something better to do.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
I disagree with the announcers. No way was that PI on either guy. Oregon just got hosed.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
LOL at that PI against Oregon.....PAC 12 officials are awful.

I see the bickering going back and forth and it's really starting to depress me. reading some of the Ace Williams stuff and the Bleacher Report and and the comments, man oh man, hard to read and put up with, but alas, this is the plight we are in right now.
Whatever you believe or not, Mattison has the defense playing timid to me, we attacked in his 1st yr and since then we have gradually become a more bend but don't break D, I want to attack, dare people....this has disappointed me, I hope it changes.
Some of Hoke's decisions have been head sctratching, honestly, for one, Wile should be the damn FG kicker, he's obviously better, but the senior guy starts, and that guy has been struggling and everybody knows it. Also, seemingly not developing these highly rated recruits is worrisome at best.
We played with a swagger in 2011, now, I don't see that as much, something is wrong and it's very concerning.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:45 PM ^
Wrong thread, bro?
November 7th, 2013 at 9:54 PM ^
Really, the best thing to do is print out anything Ace Williams writes and use it as toilet paper so that not only are his words touching the only part of the human body they are fit to contact, they are still absorbent. As for Bleacher Report, just don't. You'll feel better for ignoring them as well.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
Wile is "obviously" better? LMAO. The guy had like 5 FG attempts total before MSU while Gibbons had consistently performed well the past 2 seasons
Attacking with young players is a recipe for disaster. Guys who are learning on the run will make mistakes. Mattison knows this and is trying to protect. You can disagree with that, but the man knows how to coach defense.
And the comment about not "developing" recruits is premature to say the least. For many of these kids this is the first they have seen the field. Why don't let them gain some experience first before offering a judgment of Hoke's player development ability.
November 7th, 2013 at 10:07 PM ^
Wile should have been the the guy kicking the 52 yd FG at the end of reg vs PSU...he kicked a 49 yarder vs MSU against the wind with no problem and plenty of leg, Gibbons barely made his chip shot with the wind after it hit the upright. LMAO back at ya.
Things shlould be somewhat better than they are, I'm willing to wait and was a staunch supporter of his hiring but I don't like what I'm seeing in many cases.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:44 PM ^
Well, if Stanford is doing this to Oregon, Alabama would seem to have similar success if they ever played.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:49 PM ^
Maybe. Remember that Oregon would have a month to prepare for Bama.
Also, wouldn't you want to see East Coast MANBALL play West Coast MANBALL?
November 7th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
Sort of. If I needed a nap.
November 7th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
I don't think Saban is going to lose a game with a month to prepare. Oregon would have a better chance playing him with six days' preparation.
