Moderator Action Sticky #3

Submitted by Brian on

Hello. The previous mod action sticky was cumbrously long so this is a new one. What this thread is for:

This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.

Update: There's now a Mod Action Sticky IV.

I think he meant Furman. To running back. If you think the answer to the running back can't block problem is to put a guy who's never played running back in there, well, no.

So when I see them, when they are just personal insults and provide nothing else, I'm going to post the user names here and you guys can decide how to handle it. I'm not blaiming you guys for not getting the job done, modding would suck, so hopefully this helps and we can work together to get this board to some relative respectability.

I don't think the rest of his comments have been all that bad, so maybe a "don't say things like that" will suffice here.

For All The Hoke Haters (ESPN Article)

Most Jason Whitlock articles are barely readable, but this one sitting on this board....I don't see a lot of good discussion coming from it. Even at 60 or comments, it's mostly frank (and accurate) assessments of the level of journalism displayed and some minor semi-related quibbling. Disagree if you want, but I think you saw the best response that this will receive.

Multiple Michigan Underclassmen Considering Transfer?

No Ace Williams. Even if there is Ace Williams, there is no Ace Williams here. In any case, I thought Williams had moved to Mars in order to cover Alpha Quadrant Premier League.

Transfer rumors on Chat Sports

One of the reasons there is no Ace Williams is because Ace Williams tries to perpetuate Ace Williams at the expense of Michigan.

I had never heard the name before today. I live in Columbus and have had like 10 people facebook/email/text me about his story. Is there any possible fire at the root of his smoke, or is he just a loud mouth with no content?

IE - should I be worried ?

His picture that he used to use (not sure if he still uses it or not) is out of a magazine (A&F IIRC). I'm not even sure if "Ace Williams" actually exists or if he is the alter-ego of an uber-troll.

This Game Is It

A blizzard all in one thread. I am thinking we may see a lot of this tonight. Nothing personal, folks.

Negative 69 rushing yards in two weeks

Yeah, there's an offense snowflake thread.

What I'm sick of hearing/seeing?

Most of this could have gone in one of the other threads.

RR vs Hoke, time to evaluate

Coaching snowflake plus "Really, the headset thing again?"

Everyone needs to chill

Probably not the best time for this.

Score Predictions Thread: Appalachian State

Not necessarily deleted for premise, but someone went to a very bad place with their Borges vitriol and it is easier to remove the thread than make the thread read coherently now.

Look on the bright side...

Good try, and on most other days, it might even stay, but this will get a lot of vitriol posted in it tonight, I fear.

Kalis and Bryant need to replace Magnuson and Bosch

Yeah, the Offense Snowflake thread isn't too unwieldly yet. This rather belongs there.

...is to leave them all up, and then go to work in about eight hours or so when everyone's fallen asleep? It's like Heracles and the Hydra now--every time you cut off a thread, two more grow out of the wound. Surely it's no harder to delete a thread that has 1000 replies than one with 3, and there'll be fewer total threads.

Or maybe it would be a good time for a DOS attack. I'm sure one could be anonymously arranged and no one would have to take a decision above their paygrade.

It's Time: Let's Talk About Les Miles

I am going to make a ruling here that might be unpopular, but this one really doesn't stand out as "separate thread" material above and beyond the snowflakes right now. The Al Borges thread stood because it was focused venting and probably is taking the heat off the Coaching Snowflake thread. This one gets sacrificed for now.

Official List of Posters Reducing/Eliminating Financial Support to UM

We really don't need this level of negativity on the boards just now, and it isn't much more than a thread created just so people can gripe. I created some of those threads so you could gripe, folks, but in a structured manner.

How Can we fix this?

Well, there were snowflake threads on the front page when I went to sleep at 12:30 AM...

My Dream about Albert Boris (Not a typo) Or: How my brain tried to make sense of all of this.

This was the most interesting thing that ultimately didn't meet the Snowflake bar.

Not just negative points, sorry-you-can't-vote-on-any-OPs-anymore punishment -- this should result in immediate banishment.

http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/new-oc-candidate-found

I am still unhappy about Ace front-paging the girl from the IU game and making fun of her, as it makes it seem like this kind of behavior is OK.  I'm sure if that girl was Ace's sister or cousin it wouldn't have been so f'ing funny to him.

New OC candidate found

This was not a good idea. Fuel injection was a good idea. This was not fuel injection - it was simply mean-spirited.

Mattison for Head Coach

I don't forsee this one ending well. Also, it probably should be in the snowflake thread for coaching, which is sadly but not shockingly no longer on the front page.

Told you- never say an athletic quarterback can't throw

Now, now. Your thread was deleted initially because it really was a bad thread. No need to be a jerk about the whole thing. We're all here to participate in constructive discussion about Michigan athletics. Deepest Bolivia.

Timing is everything. Unlucky UM

The tribe has spoken here really, and in the aftermath of a loss, a thread where there is any speculation about how we had a shot at Dantonio possibly really isn't going to generate useful discussion here. Feel free to dispute this, but the trend is not good.
