Freshman goaltender Zach Nagelvoort has been the B1G Second Star of the Week. This is his second straight B1G Three Stars of the Week selection.
Nagelvoort had 56 saves and posted .949 save percentage.
He is ranked second in the NCAA in GAA at 1.47, and third in save percentage at .948
In every edition of the B1G Three Stars of the Week awarded so far, Michigan has at least one player in each one-
- 10/15 - Andrew Copp (First Star)
- 10/22- Tyler Motte (Second Star)
- 10/29- Zach Nagelvoort (Third Star)
- 11/5- Zach Nagelvoort (Second Star)
Michigan moved to #2 in both polls this week. They have a bye this week and will travel to omaha to play nebraska-omaha in a weekend series. The friday game will be on CBS Sports Network while the Saturday game can be heard on MGoBlueTV.

In a season that has been full of pleasant surprises thus far, Nagelvoort has a good claim to be the best one early on. Obviously he has a long way to go, but his goaltending has been absolutely stellar and has made the difference in several 1-goal victories. If he continues playing at this level, the battle will be on in earnest with Racine once the latter returns from injury. Good problems to have!

He's been making so many good saves a game that it's both exciting and concerning. If we had goaltending this year like we had last year, our record would be a lot different. Not sure if that's good (goaltending) or concerning (defense)

Well Racine was dressed this past weekend. Not sure if he was listed as the third goalie or not but did see him out there (which he wasn't the previous weekend).

Racine was listed as the backup. He could have played but with Tech's offense being really bad and a bye week coming up, it was better not to rush him.
With our last superstar goalie never returning from a groin injury, they won't take any unnecessary chances.

Appreciate the info. Hockey news is getting harder to find.

He's still not great at handling the puck, but I'm more than impressed with his start to this season.

I'm kinda surprised Copp didn't earn his second weekly star award. Two goals one which was an OT winner.
