M at Yankee Stadium - get on this, Bill Martin!

Interesting story about the new "Yankee Bowl" (cripes can there really be 35 freakin' bowl games now? And can the "Champs Sports Bowl" really be the spot for the #2 Big East team? Ugh) Beyond this new bowl, there also is stuff about how there will be an annual regular season game between Army and an opponent at Yankee Stadium, starting with Army-ND in 2010. Since there are a paucity of teams in the alumni-rich northeast part of the country (see playing Connecticut in a couple of years), wouldn't this be a cool alternative? I'd be pumped to see an Army-Michigan game at Yankee Stadium. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/ncaa/09/29/yankee-bowl/i… Pardon if this was discussed during the UConn/Virginia/Cal/who we gonna play non-conference in 2010 discussion, but I don't recall seeing it on the board.

Remember that Steinbrenner Sr. has screwed Michigan at least twice, and he served as a grad assistant under Woody Hayes, as well as graduating with his Masters from OSU. He snagged Derek Jeter away from us, as well as Drew Henson (and forever screwed up Drew's career). While his sons may run the team, in no way would I reward them either. I think playing against UConn is cool for all the Michigan faithful out east, but I believe another alternative would have to come about for another appearance to the east besides Yankee Stadium.

Although Henson probably leads us to greener pastures than what Navarre did, and would maybe be looking at a 1st round pick, some have even claimed #1 overall. I don't know, because well it never happened. As it turned out, Drew flopped in the Majors, and then gave it a shot at the NFL. Needless to say, I am bitter towards the Yanks.

The Boss, I believe, worked with Bo at Northwestern and was a lifelong friend. The rumors of him attempting to screw Michigan are overblown... Jeter decided against college baseball and Henson was probably a better baseball prospect than a football prospect.

He screwed Michigan twice? His team drafted and signed a future first ballot hall of famer and a kid that they thought was going to be a great 3b. He's running a business and made a couple of moves (one of which helped them win 4 championships). What do you want from the man? Those two signings have nothing to do with whether Michigan plays a football game at Yankee Stadium.
