Rest of season predictions

Considering Hoke's road record and our two home games against Nebraska and OSU, what is a realistic outcome for the last 4 games? Road games in Iowa and Chicago. I can see it going anywhere from 0-4 to 3-1 unfortunately. Anyone who can sell me on 3-1 please do so.

DOOM

We're headed for a 7-5 season and no New Year's Day bowl.  The formerly optimistic side of me is gasping for breath as it tries to convince the rational side of me that we'll go 2-2 down the stretch.

We can win the next three but when the Buckeyes come to town we will live the life of the smallest guy in the cell block............   As bad as we looked today, our upcoming competition doesn't look great either.

2-2.

Pelini is probably done after this season. Northwestern looks to have mailed in their season. Not like Northwestern is a real away game anyways. Then lose to Iowa because M can't win on the road and lose to Ohio because of the season long issues M has had and Borges going for another 27 for 27 because he's so smart.

Win vs. Nebraska, Nebraska is just not a good football team, and the home field advantage will help us get by.

Win vs. Northwestern, although I could easily see this being the game that Northwestern miraculously gets back on track and becomes an offensive juggernaut once again.

Loss vs. Iowa, Iowa's not that good but we can't beat anyone of any substance on the road.

Loss vs. OSU, this one could get extremely ugly. Urban won't hesitate for one second to hang 100 on us if he can.

8-4, Wild Wings Bowl vs. probably TCU or Texas Tech

Beat Ohio and Nebraska... Lose to Iowa and Northwestern becuase we find ways to lose on the road, but we win in amazing fashion at home... So long 2013 season... Can we have Denard back?

L- M will lose to OSU yet be competetive owing to the rivalry and being at home. Iowa is a tough place to play and they seem to be fairly stout on D.

W - Nebraska is comparably confused and we get em' at home, NW is in a tailspin with less than rabid fans.

Assuming we lose to OSU this year, Hoke will be 1-2 vs MSU and 0-2 vs. Meyer heading into road games against both next year.

If Gardner's injury is serious, then you can write it all off. He's also a lot less likely to be in Notre Dame form that banged up even if he does play. He looked one or two steps slower than in previous weeks on every scramble today.

of Gardner's injury?  I pretty much abandoned the game with 4 minutes left but overheard the TV guys mentioning "injury" a couple plays into Shane Morris's mop-up duty.

I see, too, that the thread has been deleted about whether or not DG is a legit QB---was hoping to peek at it to see what it said re: his injury, but I'm too late.

2 - 2 is the best with him "healthy". I don't want to think about what it would be like with Morris as QB. No New Years Bowl game is very likely. Incredibly disappointed in this staff and upper classmen.

Playing for pride is a loser mentality. When former players call out the gameplan you KNOW there are real issues. This staff is struggling and its very obvious.

The apologists and morons...guess what? While we are going 8-5 back to back years, Ohio will be going undefeated in back to back years. Let that sink in for a second.

Is Michigan fans accepting mediocrity as long as it comes with a Michigan man. Brady is what he is, nothing more. And as long as he is here, it will be 7, 8 maybe a 9 or 10 win year thrown in once in a while, but he does not coach up talent. Recruits will realize this. (I'm sure a few already have) And we will still get a few big names, but they won't ever scratch the surface of getting to the level that names like Meyer, saban or fisher would get them to. If we wanted more, we would have brought in miles, or made sure harbaugh said yes. But the longer we experiment with mid level names being able to bring us back to glory, the longer we will be mediocre and in a worse way than Notre dame.

we are a desirable spot for a big name coach now ? We could not get Harbaugh to come here, and I cannot see anybody big coming to a team that is failing in a piss poor conference, where RR was treated so badly by the boosters  when he was not ian instant winner. The problem goes back to keeping Lloyd Carr way too long and letting OSU get sooooo far ahead that it will now take 5-10 years minimum to get to relevancy. Who would come here ? We as Michigan men think that people will jump at the chance to come here. We are deluded in our self importance. Something has to change  before anybody but a BIG risk coach at a small school would come.

Who the fuck cares?? Our schedule is no fucking different, we struggled against Akron and UConn..let that sink in! And we're struggling to get to 8 win seasons. Jesus Christ I'm so fucking sick of the people on this baord downgrading every opponent we have that for the past 6 years has been kicking our ass!

Northwestern is reelling.

Those are both must wins.

Nebraska has a ton of issues right now.  porous defense.  hot seat coach.

that is also a must win.

anything less than 3-1 is a failure.

I think the guys will respond to this by giving it everything that they've got.  They are going to play with passion from here out.  It won't be enough against OSU.  But we match up against everybody else who is left pretty well.

Iowa has a good defensive front that will challenge us up the middle again but if we win 3 one of the wins will be Iowa, not Ohio.

We know what all the remaining teams are going to do we just don't kniow if we can stop it against the better fronts.

This is so dumb.

OK.

Let's say that our team is 5-0, and we have people like you going, "THIS SEASON IS A DISAPPOINTMENT! ANYONE IS DISAGREES WITH ME IS SO DUMB! LOL!"

Then we have sane people going, "Dude, we're 5-0, this season is not a disappointment. Relax."

Next, the team loses 5 games in a row so they're 5-5, and then you come in, "SEE! LOL! HATERZ! WHERE U @ NOW! WHERE ALL DEM FOOLS AT TALKIN BOUT THIS WASN'T A DISAPPOINTMENT!"

Then we have the sane people going, "Well, it is now that we've lost 5 games in a row, dummy, but back when we were 5-0 or even 5-1, it wasn't a disappointment."

You're like a dude who comes running up to me and says, "TheLastHoke! TheLastHoke! My house is on fire!"

So I go over to your house and there is no fire to be found, and I'm like, "Dude, there is no fire."

So then you say you're right, I'm wrong. I'm an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about. You call the fire department, and they show up. "No signs of a fire here, sir." You call them stupid, and say they're wrong.

Then 2 weeks later you come running back to me again, "TheLastHoke! TheLastHoke! My house is on fire!"

So I go over to your house and see that it is indeed on fire, and I'm like, "Holy shit, man. Your house is on fire!"

Then somehow you feel smug and validated, that you were right all along, and you don't understand why that's just totally incorrect, faulty logic.

If we won out to finish 10-2 with a win over Ohio (not saying I think we will, but if we did), I would be very happy.

If we lose out to finish 6-6 then obviously that would be a huge disappointment.

The loss today was disappionting, sure.  But it doesn't make the rest of the season irrelevant.
