Yes, but according to Sam Webb it was more of a courtesy visit.  Seems to be between us and Kentucky... and if we don't get Blackmon that may help us with getting Booker.

Im afraid Blackmon goes to UK, Booker goes to Mizzou, and we're left with zip. I have no basis for this other than e-experience, but Booker just seems terribly unlikely to be here. He's visited a jillion times and nothing ever seems to develop. I have a gut feeling that its Blackmon or bust

I disagree that it would not be a "make" type pick-up. As you said, our recruiting class is solid so missing out on both would not "break" the class. However, it would leave us with a solid or top 30/25 class and without a pure SG (although Hatch probably could play SG/SF role if he is healthy enough to play). With him it gives us a top 15 class, maybe top 10 class, and a recruit for every position we need. Plus, some scouts say he is one of the best shooters out there so definitely would an enormous pickup.

I just don't feel confident about Blackmon. I think Booker is a long shot now. But I have not heard anyone talk about Blackmon like the they know for sure where he is going. It seems to me they are just suspecting UK because they are UK and his dad went there. But Blackmon seems to be pretty silent on who is leading.

It will be interesting either way. Whether we land Blackmon or not, I know that he was very complimentary of Ann Arbor and Michigan in his visit here per an earlier UMHoops article, so no one can ever say that we do not impress. I believe he did at least say that Michigan was a place he could himself at and that he enjoyed the fact that it had a knowledgable and passionate fanbase.

but the same was true of Chatman and we all know how that turned out so I am still holding out hope that we land Booker or Blackmon.  If we miss on both I think I'd rather they bank the scholly to the 2015 class than take a late flier on someone just to fill a spot.  We are in on some crazy good talent for 2015

I felt this was trending toward a shutout for some time now... With the way kids liek to play games these days, What if they both chose U of M?  I know, I'm dreaming so don't wake me.

It shouldn't. Recruits are going to want to see the post Burke era. Jumping on a team after 1 'surprising' run at a forever football school isn't something recruits tend to do. There are the mainstays, UNC Duke Kentucky, Kansas etc newcomers are going to struggle. How the team looks, how players develop and how well they play for a couple years will make the turnaround one that lasts. Takes a while to be taken seriously after years of being an afterthought. Basketball and football alike. We're 'Michigan' in football but in basketball we're a newcomer.

I agree with everything you said in your post. I don't trust the "John the Snake in the Grass at KY" He will do anything to get any top player at the Wildcats. I guess we will find out soon. Hopefully he goes to UofM because he wants a good education too.

The conventional wisdom is that basketball recruiting starts when guys are so young that you don't see a payoff in the immediate class right after your first big success. This seems to be holding true for Michigan. The Wolverines seem to be making headway with very highly rated guys in the 2015 class in a way that they are not with the 2014 class.
