A) Bunting is a loser's strategy.
B) Bunting a 95 mph fastball with movement is much harder than bunting a 75 mph high school fastball.

Bunting in the big leagues is not an easy thing, especially against hard-throwing strikeout pitcher.

I have to say, Max is very good when it comes to the timely strikeouts. My hope is that the Massey estimated probability of 35% for this game with respect to Detroit is simply the model being a tad conservative.
