The Snowflake Thread: Offense

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

Here is your snowflake thread for the offense. Unlike last week, I am pretty sure we're not going to OT here.

Despite a multiple school record game (we've played a lot of bad teams before Indiana) I get the feeling some folks were still on the edge of their armchairs waiting for something bad to happen so they can pounce and blame it on Borges. I'm not saying we don't have still have issues, and that Indiana is a good yardstick, but for fuck's sake, just enjoy the team's success a little.

Most yards in school history?  Nine TDs for the offense?  More total yards for Gardner than Robinson ever had?

No matter.  Borges is poo poo Indianer ain't no good!  Some of the "fans" on here are jokes, sad human beings.

I agree that Indiana's defense is dreadful but we did what we needed to do to win and the score shows that. I only hope that Al keeps of the variety of plays for future games. I feel after few good games he goes back to the play style we don't like. But today we needed this amazing offense and we should be good if we keep improving.

My biggest issue with Borges is that this should have been Michigan's identity on offense all year. I know IU has a horrible defense, but this game was certainly good for our confidence. Gardner played phenomenal and Gallon is unreal.

Many of our runs seemed to come from the shotgun or pistol.  The stretch run didn't work and we tried it a lot.  Surprinsgly though after we got the interception and we needed 2 first downs to win and we kept running the ball I was getting frustrated thinking here we go again with the conservative run plays like last week.  The difference is Fitz broke some runs.  Overall the game plan seemed a lot better though and Devin looked good most of the time, threw good deep balls, scrambled well, although made me a little nervous when pressured, but all in all a good day.

I was critical of last week's WE WILL RUN DAMMIT game plan, and that disaster wasn't erased by today's game.  That said, I was very happy with the offensive plan today.  Very aggressive most of the game, and very successful.  Nice game Mr. Borges.

DG and Gallon, but I'm leaning to DG. His ability to buy time and make plays with his arm or leg allowed him to match and eventually beat IU (hell of a game from them, if they ever got a defense.....oh boy). I only got to it at the beginning of the 3rd Q so I might have missed earlier action, but I'd give game ball to him.

Wow is all I can say. 751 yards, 83 plays, which is good for just a smidge over nine yards per offensive snap on average. Granted, it is against the worst defense in the Big Ten, but I think I will take that. There were 248 yards of rushing, and 503 yards of passing.

Al definitely knows his ass was on the line after last game. I give him props for responding to it like that. Huge game in every offensive aspect.

We are a much better spread team than power I team.  I thought Borges called a great game.  Honestly, I kept an eye on Magnusson and Bosch and they were good.  I'm cautiously optimistc for the rest of the year.  We have lots of flaws but can be very dangerous.
