The above is a near-comprehensive look at Michigan's run plays on first down. I'm so sorry.

[Hit THE JUMP for more sad, because obviously.]

No voting this week, and I didn't bother to use lightboxes because f*** it, that's why. If you've got a non-Chrome browser hit 'escape' to stop the sadimation.

stay focused on the same fan in the last two GIFs?  It seems like they are always focusing on that guy.  Just let the spectator enjoy his awesome field-level seats he seems to get week after week.

UTL Jersey dude looks like he's ready to GTFO  Has that cold stare directly to the camera.  A little Dennis Norfleet headbob/dance motion.  I can just hear him say "Why in the hell did I drive my ass all the way here for this shit?"

During the game I kept saying to myself "Gardnes should fake the handoff and run a naked bootleg" that first picture shows it.  When Brian does his UFR, I wonder how many times they ran this play and the bootleg was big yards.  All Devin has to do is beat the DE across the wide side.

I know that was not the point of the pictures it is a microcosm of the overall problem.  Our coordinator can't think on the fly.

Originally I was not on Borges as much, I think Devin is really limited in his throws, so they are being careful, but he can make relative safe throws when 8 or 9 guys are in the box.  This has been said, but it is Denard all over again, teams are not scared of our QB, our receivers or our pass protection.  They stop the run and we are dead

Also, I have not seen mentioned anywhere in the myriad of posts over the past 3 days, where the hell is Braden???? He was the guy hyped out of camp and the heir apparent  at LT? he is not even playing, is he hurt?  Any info would be appreciated.

It feels more like 2007 to me. RR has always started slow and then there was the Sherithreet factor, so I didn't expect much. And not much is what we got.

But 2007 had Henne/Hart/Long/Manningham/Arrington and we ran zone left a zillion times. If we get to some shitty bowl and the handcuffs come off the offense I'll scream.

That 2008 Cap-One bowl offense would actually be perfect here, with Gallon roughly in the Manningham role and Funchess in the Arrington role. And that's not even taking into account Devin's legs.

Frick.

What is remarkable in watching the film is how few PSU players are on the ground- ever. They all seem to hold their positions and are quickly able to snap off their blocker to make the tackle. It is like MU is playing an oppenent in a video game that is set on maximum difficulty level. In fact, it looks very much like a video game before you realize the difficulty level is too high for you.

I like them this way, too, but with the normal number of GIFs it totally bogs down for people with slower connections and can even crash browsers. The lightboxes are a necessary evil for now—I get complaints every time I post more than one un-lightboxed GIF on the front page.

I spent all weekend either in a car or at that game and we recorded the podcast when I'm normally beginning to compile GIFs. Nobody requested anything when I asked on Twitter. Y'all get what you ask for, and I'll also remind you that this is a free blog. Sorry if you were disappointed but this was just about all I could muster.

We still have the Borges presser to bear.  That will complete the feeling of utter futility and hopelessness because according to Brady, "We've already got a great OL coach and OC."

In my best, "As seen on TV" voice: "NOW how much would you pay?!"

New tagline for Michigan Football:  "Prioritizing cronyism over competency for nearly 20 years."

I have a simple question that I'd love for the minds of MGoBlog to answer. Isn't the goal of an OC to attack what the defense gives you? At the simplest level, isn't it a numbers game first?

To me, a great offensive coordinator is like a predator in the wild. He utilizes his skill sets (his teams strengths) and preys upon his opponents weaknesses. Obviously its more complicated than this, but isn't this step one?

That absolutelty should be step one.

Step two should be adjustments.

Borges doesn't seem to change his game plan at all with the flow of the game.

Is this Steve Martin pre-taping weather forcasts?

Does this guy have all his plays layed out for the whole game and just run them sequentially no matter the fuctonality or success?

He drives me nuts!!!!

that we are one of the worst running teams in college football and our offensive line can't block a soul? And Brady doesn't want Gardner's carries getting to high?
