Michigan fan maced at Beaver Stadium
Probably how many of us felt last night (clck to embiggen):
Here is the story: http://deadspin.com/hey-look-a-michigan-fan-getting-maced-in-the-face-1444577280
October 13th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
That's about right.
October 13th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
Ah jeez

Making a mental note to posbang you for all eternity once they start existing again

This thread should be titled "John Belushi Maced at Beaver Stadium"
October 13th, 2013 at 8:17 PM ^
he looks nothing like John Belushi... at all
October 13th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
Sorry, Josh must need to get his lense's adjusted
October 13th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
Had he sat through the whole game, he may have clawed his own eyes out instead.
October 13th, 2013 at 7:54 PM ^
How about Tom Brady? 1:13 left and led an 80 yard drive to thump the Saints! Hey, there is one positive thing with Michigan Football.... kinda......... ok it does not help the sheer numbness that has been pumped threw my veins since last night..
Oh well... Go Brady!
October 13th, 2013 at 7:57 PM ^
Tommy Fuckin Brady
October 13th, 2013 at 8:54 PM ^
October 13th, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
you are shitting me? I turned it off after the pick and told my wife it always feels like Michigan lost when Brady loses
How on earth did he pull that off (rhetorical, I will go read online)
October 13th, 2013 at 8:29 PM ^
It was beautifully executed.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:54 PM ^
He told me Tom Brady played to win ....
October 13th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
Sports aren't for everyone.
October 13th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
I actually maced myself...
October 13th, 2013 at 7:57 PM ^
I didn't need to. I watched the game.
October 13th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
And then cried long after it was over. It's ok, I did too.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:12 PM ^
It was weird. I sat there rocking back and forth, wiping tears from my eyes, and punching myself in the face for a good two hours.
October 13th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
Jeebus, do you really need to put the mace can 2mm from the dude's eye?
I'm sure he deserved it, but what ever happened to just tackling a dude? Especially with other people in range of that shit.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:49 PM ^
He was trying to start fights with people around him, so the state polices were asked to escort him out. The gentleman refused, started to swing at the police and hence they maced him.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:04 PM ^
The reason the can is so close to his face is because there are other people around. At the end of the day, tazer probably would have been a better way to go here if they had that option.
October 13th, 2013 at 10:59 PM ^
only problem with that logic is that they could have done serious damage to the guy's eyes by spraying too close like that.
definitely right that tazer would have been a better option.
October 14th, 2013 at 9:15 AM ^
FYI, he got it from 2 cops. Once in each eye. I witnessed it from the sideline and got photos of it. He definitely was not being compliant though.
October 13th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
That's probably pretty symbolic for how every Michigan fan felt last night.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:01 PM ^
I still can't see.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
He got off easy. The rest of us had to watch the ending.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
We all know this guy has a Mgoblog account. C'mon guy, reveal yourself. Let's hear your side of the story.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:18 PM ^
Is it Seth?
October 14th, 2013 at 3:04 PM ^
He deserved it.
Yes.
[EDIT:]
UFR: Looks pretty harsh and perhaps unnecessary.
Yes.

I actually know the guy from the UCONN game and it is definitely not the same guy.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:22 PM ^
What are the possibilities that this guy was being a gigantic asshole and/or resisting the cops, even when cuffed?
My guess: high.
Doesn't mean it isn't (likely) unreasonable force, but if they're macing him even with the cuffs, it's probable he did something wrong.
EDIT: Just saw the Deadspin update. Moral of the story: Don't be an asshole. Especially in an opposing stadium.
October 14th, 2013 at 8:17 AM ^
In the picture it looks like he is already cuffed when he got maced. Seems like it wasn't really necessary at that point, but hard to tell what is happening from a picture. Whatever he did prior to that point shouldn't matter, the mace ought to be used to get him under control, not get revenge.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
Dude still had a better night than Al Borges
October 13th, 2013 at 8:12 PM ^
He had the right idea......but gotta execute better than that. Damn young fans
October 13th, 2013 at 8:20 PM ^
You know, if you don't want to watch the game you can just turn around. Blinding oneself seems a bit excessive.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:24 PM ^
He probably killed his father and slept with his mother.
October 14th, 2013 at 12:48 PM ^
Nice. I like it
October 13th, 2013 at 8:22 PM ^
Did anyone consider that this gentleman may have asked to be maced rather than watch another outside zone run on 1st down?
October 13th, 2013 at 8:35 PM ^
That's funny
October 13th, 2013 at 8:22 PM ^
...RDT/WIAB
October 13th, 2013 at 8:30 PM ^
So PSU cops are aggressive with this kind of thing but....
October 13th, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
Too soon
October 13th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
not too soon... actually too late
October 13th, 2013 at 8:58 PM ^
Stern...but fair.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:33 PM ^
He didn't have to sit through 4OT's of crapping the bed.
October 13th, 2013 at 8:44 PM ^
After reading the Deadspin article, I realized that I had made the same mistake one of the commenters there did in that I first thought that this guy was macing himself, which would have been interesting and admittedly, something I might have been tempted to do to myself throughout overtime last night.
October 13th, 2013 at 9:00 PM ^
Lucky him. Probably less painful than watching the rest of that game.
